I really like the smooth white film's tone. It has a darker voice than clear mylar, with somewhat fewer overtones, a round, vintage vibe and more volume than pre-muffled heads.
I use these over smooth white Ambassadors for a little more focus and to further reduce overtones.
The collars are a little tall so they require (at least on my kits, Sonor & Tama) more initial tension to seat. If you tune extremely low, this may ne an issue for you.
One last thing: The snare batter is a coated Ambassador, not a smooth white as advertised.

These heads are great. They stand hard hits and look like new. These emperors took my PDP set and took it to an all new sound. Nice fat tone and when you mic them they are awesome. Highly recommend the smooth white cause they are easy to clean if touring. Great heads cant beat the price and best of all they are Remo.

I bought this pack because I was looking for a low priced 4-5 piece drumhead pack because I was low on money and one of my stock heads broke. They really made my kit sound much brighter. I would definitely recommend these heads. They're Awesome!
