i've done a lot of experimenting over the years. i've always come home to remo coated ambassadors for my snares. if you can't get a perfect snare sound with these heads, you may want to take up another hobby/sport/insert pursuit here. if you "play through" them, a review of your technique may be in order. these heads are cheap, and very durable. i play as loud as the next banger, and i have NEVER played through one of these (or any other head for that matter). these are good heads. thank you, remo.
your basic snare batter head. the standard.
durable, reasonably priced. like i said, the standard (imo).

i have these set up on my 4X14 Pacific SX Maple snare drum and 4X14 Pearl FF brass snare drum. provides that great "pop" snare for recording/live scenario. highly recommended for the power piccolo snare sound. great for toms too!

Better Buy Extra's

I got this snare head on my new Sonor drum set a month ago. I hadn't been playing even every day and not very hard, when it broke. It sounds less fizzy and poppier than before but its hard to hit around the ever growing crack in the snare.
