Features:

I first got the coated weathering ambassadors heads for my snare and toms. (clear weathering ambassadors on resonant side) Awesome! I recorded a record the following week and it was the best tones I have ever accomplished yet.

 

After breaking a bass head, I got this bass drum head. Punchy, booming, clear tones followed. It brought my playing alive more than ever. I read several reviews on several products and many said that remo's weatherking series were the best. After using several types over the years, I couldn't agree more.

This is top quality. You cannot go wrong.

Value:

I would buy it again next time.

Overall:

Tone, construction, value...it's all there.

The head is very easy to tune right out of the box, and the best part about it, is the amount of punch you didn't know you had.  It resonates beautifully on my 24'' Gretsch, and there is no way there is anything better

I've played drums for 35-40 yrs and this is by far the best bass drum batter head I've used or heard. I use it on a 22" Vistalite. It has a very deep sound with no no annoying overhanging ring. Damping is unnecessary. The bass sounds fabulous with this as a batter and a Evans single ply resonate head. I don't use the dot but I can't remember what effect it had on the sound. YMMV. Just buy it, especially if you have a lively set like the Ludwig Vistalites

Powerstroke 3 Rocks!

I replaced the factory 22" head with one of these and love the sound. I also use an ebony Powerstroke 3 with 5" port hole for the resonator head and the bass is lower and punchy with no annoying overtones. I use a small amount of pillow stuffing inside to further dampen the sound but it sounds good even with no stuffing. If you are looking for a low, punch bass note, then buy it. It was worth every penny!
