The durable, lightweight Acousticon shell delivers excellent projection and is unaffected by weather conditions. A heavy-duty rubber bottom protects the shell from ground impact. Pure enjoyment! This drum is beautiful in its looks, sound, and performance. I like the key-tuning, much easier than drums with ropes. It's a good idea to get a floor stand to avoid having the drum slip if held between your knees, as its surface is smooth. I just reviewed the stand I got ... it's ideal. This drum in a winner!

This being my first key-tuned djembe, I was a little worried. I love wood shells, goat heads, and rope tuning. But this drum is pretty dern reliable and sound worthy. I picked the new adinkra version up at a Guitar Center and it has dine the job quite well. if you are going to buy key-tuned djembes, I say go Remo!
This djembe is has all the features you would expect on a key-tuned djembe and nothing more. No mess, no fuss. Just what you need.
As with most Remo stuff in my experience, it's good quality. Everything seems sturdy and has played well to date. The Skyndeep head it came with takes quite a pounding.
Overall, it's a giid drum for the asking price. I feel like I got solid deal picking this drum up.

The sound is good and ballanced. I agree with the other person who a review on this item; it does go low! It has a nice pop and ring to it too, especially in the tone range.
In short I'm really happy with this one and I couldn't see why anyone would want to go with anything else. Really nice drum and a lot of fun!
The best quality is has going for it is the tuning key! I tried to restring a traditional rope style djembe before after changing the head and I'd never do it again to save my life! After spending a few weeks re-knotting it, I had to take it to a professional. However, with the tuning keys you can change the head and tune it however and when ever you want without getting frustrated.

I've had this drum for almost a year now and I am very happy with it. I got the shadow flame(black flame with dark blue background) and it looks as great as it sounds. I tuned it down a little bit because I like that deep bass sound but with the edges still pretty high so as to get as many differant tones out of it as possible. I have used it regularly wheather it be at home, practice or gigs and it has held up and stayed in tune very well. in my oppinion this is a great drum and I have had experience with many differant brands and styles.

This is a great djembe! when they say high slaps and low bass they mean it. It feels sturdy but it's a little top heavy, i would recommend either a strap or a stand to go with it, but it's definitely usable in your lap. Just be aware of how you sit for comfort while playing. All in all it's a great value and has a great earthy tone that fits with multiple styles of music.
