The heads I purchased sound good. However drumheads can differ greatly and I like to experiment with different heads. I don't understand why they came in such a big shipping box. It looked as though it had been retaped. No damage to contents though.

I just overhauled my set of Ludwig, with these heads,ON THE BOTTOM, LMAO and the REMO Black Dot Batter heads, and I couldn't be more pleased !!! These babies are like putting black mirrors on the bottom of your drums and the sound is out of this world. We play Classic Rock, Contemporary Rock, 70's, 80,s, 90's, as well as some of the newer, Graan Day, etc. Combined with the Black Dot, these Resonant Heads are the way to go. While I can't vouch for other combos, I can say that thirty years of playing with the Black Dot, I have found the resonant head that will homestead on the bottom of my set. Excellent Job REMO, Thanks a million !!!! Trust me, you won't be disappointed !!!!! Just remember, for all of these "Drummers" out there; the Resonant Head goes on the bottom !!!! Once again, Musician's Friend has given an awesome price for an awesome product.

These babies sound amazing. Really sound warmer in my opinion, at least compared to the stock heads i had on before. I am absolutely PAINED to think that there are people out there wailing away on these poor things!!! The scourge of resonant head abuse must stop!!!

...And to think that one of the negative reviews on this product was from an instructor who was using these as batter heads. I feel sorry for his students.

I dont personally own these heads yet, but I'm planning on getting them. Before you read anymore reviews, read this. Many people have claimed they break easy because they dont have any idea what they're doing. These are RESONANT heads, which means you put them on the BOTTOM of your drums, not the top. Ignore the reviews of the people who are actually hitting these heads, as they didnt quite know what they were doing.

These are resonant heads. NOT BATTER HEADS. What this means is that they go on the BOTTOM of your drum. NOT THE TOP. Disregard the reviews of people breaking these, because they shouldnt be hitting these at all. These are amazing resonant heads that bring out the life of your drums very nicely.
