Remo's Ebony Pinstripe heads are made with two (5- and 10-mil) Mylar plies with a measured layer of a ring-reducing agent applied between them at the outer edge of their trademark stripe to dampen high-frequency overtones for warm resonance. Ebony Pinstripe's quick decay makes them ideal heads for the "fat" sounds of rock and R & B and for those who want more low end sounds with moderate attack and response characteristics.

This Remo ProPack set includes 12", 13", and 16" Ebony Pinstripe drumheads.

I originally had Evans EC2s on my kit because I loved how they sounded tuned low, but after playing them for a few months, they just started to sound like I was banging on pieces of paper and became very difficult to tune. As well as that, the EC rings didn't provide the amount of dampening that I require, so I had to use external dampening sources (Moon Gels). After being intrigued seeing these ebony pinstripes on a used kit at a local store, I banged on the toms a few times and thought "Wow!" They had the perfect low, warm tone. I bought these and I get that great sound I've always wanted with no dampening needed. These heads are fairly durable. The 18" head dimpled pretty easily, but the rest are in great condition still. I would recommend these to anybody who plays rock or metal

I bought this set of drum headssome moths ago.
Mounted them and started playing with them. I use them at least twice a week for at least
one hour.

Last week while plying, the upper play cracked on the . I am dissapointed with them. I am now giving a try to Aquarian Response 2 and Evans Onix and see if I have a better luck. For what I have seen by other reviewers this seems to be pretty common.

Get 'Em!

By Sureshotsim

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Drumheads ProPack:

These drum heads are sweet. The sound quality is awesome, with the right amount of duct tape they aren't ringy, and they're pretty easy to tune. The only bad thing with them is that after a few days of playing with them, the 13" cracked. Luckly the people at Musicians Friend are sweet and are sending me a new one. They are also pretty ringy, but you can fix that pretty easly with some duct tape. In my case to get the best sound is to tune the bottom head tighter and the top ones looser. And the snare head sounds sweet when it's tuned tight. It gives a nice crisp sound. Best of luck!

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Drumheads ProPack:

I put these heads on my toms and bass drum. They sounded realy good when I first put them on. But within a couple of months both the high tom and low tom heads cracked. these heads have two layers and the top layer cracked for me on two of the tom heads. they give a very dull sound once they have cracked. which is very dissapointing for the ammount you spend

Full Rock Sound!

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Drumheads ProPack:

These heads have that deep wet sound. Most of the tuning will be on the bottom head of your toms in order to achieve this. If you are a Remo Pinstripe fan and want to doll up the look of your kit without loosing that deep wet Pinstripe sound, these are the heads.

Excellent

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Drumheads ProPack:

I own a basic ludwig set (Accent CS) and these heads give a well defined, BIG sound to the toms. The snare sound is very crisp and powerful, even with the original resonant head.

I'll buy them again

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Drumheads ProPack:

I am satisfied with these heads. the feel, the tone and the overall sound. I've had several compliments on the way my drums sound. I've always used remo heads but this is the first time with the ebony. I have the powerstroke kick head but the rest are ebony. My 12" tom head after about 6 months split, about 3" long close to the rim toward the center of the drum. Almost like it was cut with a knife.Maybe a fluke I don't know. I play every weekend, somtimes three nites a week. I don't abuse my drums. But I'll get another cause I like them. The sound is worth it.

Amazing heads

By benton

from Fayetteville, AR

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Drumheads ProPack:

I've used basically all of the different remo drumhead types and these are by far the best. They sound fantastic, with a very deep sound equivilent to evan's ec2 drumheads. They have a medium-short sustain but they still dont sound too short. The snare head is great, cutting out the high overtones I get win my cheap snare drum. Along with all of that, they just look amazing. I would recomend these to any drummer.

sounded Great..... While They lasted

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Drumheads ProPack:

I got these drum heads a little over a weak ago when I put them on they sounded great. A nice low tone pop at a good price. Just practicing flams around the set when the 13" tom pop the top layer of the drum head split and the nice low tone pop was now a dud. They are great sounding heads but if u don't want to buy about 3 packs a month don't buy theses heads.
