I Put these heads on my vintage Slingerland set and they not only set off the Silver Sparkle but gave the Toms, 12", 16", 18" the super deep sound I was looking for. They take 2 to 3 days to form fit and sound Fantastic wether tuned high or low, but really shine at the point just beyond the wrinkles disapearing. Coupled with Ebony Ambassadors for resonant heads, it is physically impossible to get a deeper sound out of your toms with the heads that are available today. The Quality and Lifespan of these heads are simply amazing. They not only eliminate any unwanted ringy overtones, they bring out the best of each tom and at the same time look Wicked doing so. The only down side to them is they will Magnify the Horrid sound of cheap/crappy toms as well, unlike the Evans Black Hydraulic which will cover up any inherant flaws in your drums. For the old school Deeper than Deep sound that hails from the 60s and 70s Go Ebony Pinstripe all the way. NOTE: If you are like me and Love things that match, Take a 13 or 14" Ebony Ambassador (Snare Size) and stick a Cannon Black Power Dot centered on the underneath side of the head, 5.5" standard or 7" Large, and Bam! Remo Controlled Sound Snare Head, in Black!!!

Been playing for 30 years. Not a thick stick power hitter be any stretch. I purchased 8 of the Pinstripe Ebony heads. Within the first week 2 of them had split the top layer. Musicians Friend was kind enough to replace those, and then two more within a month of me installing the heads. After having the four replacement heads sent, I started to feel sorry for Musicians Friend, and just sucked up the fact that I purchased the worst quality drum heads that I have ever used, and I've used A LOT. Currently there are four heads that the top layer has split on that I did not request replacements for. If you're keeping count that is 8 split heads out of 8 that I purchased. All within two months of installing them. I'll be going back to Evans to buy yet another 8 heads for my kit. It's not the money that makes me mad, it's that I purchased 8 heads, and 8 heads split the top layer...There are no stick strike divets in the heads, so they are not being pounded upon. That is a 100% failure rate. Not even Yugos were that bad.

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Tom Head:
I have used these heads for years. I love the sound and the look. The ebony pinstripe looks awesome on my silver sparkle set. I have read reviews from people who say that these heads split apart. I have never had that happin. Don't know what caused that for them, but that has never happened with me. I have been a drummer for 37 years and i've tried almost every head on the market. I love these heads above all others. I highly recommend these.

Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Tom Head:
Considering the cost, quality and overall appeal of the product, I highly recommend these heads.
I installed these on my 20 year old vintage Remo nesting drums after refinishing them. These drums are a single head design (so they nest when stored or shipped) and the shells are a composite material. Other than a good clean bearing edge on these shells, nothing else about them enhances the resonance of the drum. All the sound comes from the heads and these babies sing with these heads installed! The harmonic overtones you get with many other head choices are diminished to non-existent with these heads. As an added plus these heads look great. The audience will never see them, but from where I sit the kit looks great. I will consider re-heading my North drums with these in the future. These drums are also a single head design with shells constructed with a non-resonant material.
Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Tom Head:
I just bought this head and it has a great deep tone, sounds very clean and is extremely easy to tune. I beat on it pretty good and it seems to absorb the impact pretty good. Highly recommend these.
Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Tom Head:
These are a great set of heads! Ive been playing on my set on a daily basis and havent switched them in over a year. Theyre still in good condition and have no cracks or anything. I got cymbals that ive cracked that havent been as old as these. But theres still the the annoying overtone you get from these, but thats easily fixed with some RemO-rings and then you get a dark deep boom from your tom. I can honestly say that I recommend this to anyone of all ages and skills
Comments about Remo Ebony Pinstripe Tom Head:
I've had these heads for about 6 months. In that time I've split the top layers of my 10" and 14" toms. I've rarely broken sticks, let alone heads! And yet they split while at home practicing. Before that they sounded great. I think I'll stick to these heads for studio work and go with something else for practice.
