Back when I first started druming 1995. I was told that Remo Pinstripes were the way to go. I really loved them. However, I wanted to see what everyone else had to offer. I tried out 6 differnt types of Evan heads and a few of Aquarian heads. I have found that Aquarian heads tend to kill ALL the overtone in the drums and actually kill some of the good tones. Its like overkill for drumheads. I liked my Evans, the EC2's were my favorite. But then I decided to come back to the pinstripes just to see what I started out on. WOW!!! Why did I ever even consider other drumheads? They sound great, last forever and look sweet. What more can you ask for? I use these on my 14" snare and my toms (10, 12, 14, 16) From my experience with overtone, I have found the 14" tom does not need a moongel (not sure why but it hardly had any overtone), the 10" and 12" need one and the 16" actually needed two. Which worked fine for me seeing as they come in packs of 4. Trust me, if you know how to tune (if not use a drumdial) and set these puppies up with moongels just as I did. You will never need to shop any further. Go Remo Pinstripes for life!!! I sure know I will.

I don't like these heads. I put the 16" on my floor tom, and it just murdered the sound of my drum. I got it tuned up and all, and it just did not sound good. If you hit it with a little bit of power, it just makes this nasty slapping noise. Just don't like it.

Comments about Remo Pinstripe Coated Drumhead:
I put this head on a lowly(?) Ludwig Accent snare. It tuned up nicely, and when I listened to a live recording I was amazed! Solid pop, full tone, and not too much ring.
Comments about Remo Pinstripe Coated Drumhead:
I used this drumhead on a 6-1/2 x 14 Ludwig snare and got very good results. The drum was a lowly (but decent) Accent series, and the coated Pinstripe really made it sing with a fat, punchy sound. I'm a fairly heavy player, and it held up nicely. I recently aquired a Dixon Artisan Black Nickel snare, and I plan to put one of these on it, hopefully paired with a Black Suede snare side.

Comments about Remo Pinstripe Coated Drumhead:
I bought clear ones for my toms, and by accident got a coated pinstripe for one of my floor times. I like the sound much better than the clear. They tune easily. I have a crappy sound percussion kit, and after putting these heads on, it sounds incredible. Plus they look cool on my black set. BUY THESE HEADS!
Comments about Remo Pinstripe Coated Drumhead:
I have one of these and it is tuned so tight i'm afraid it may rupture if loosened. It is an amazing drumhead though, because the coating is extremely durable and they can be tightened as much as a head for a high school marching snare! They are absolutely incredible. As for toms, You get just a little too much punch, not enough low end. Great for rock and blues though. The best tom heads are made by Aquarian*
Comments about Remo Pinstripe Coated Drumhead:
I got these drums used, and I had used Pinstripe heads, so they sounded horrible, but since my friend gave me these for my birthday I didn't reject him and used them, I tuned them perfectly and got the best sound out of them, I highly recommend them

Comments about Remo Pinstripe Coated Drumhead:
Best heads I've ever used. Awesome sound and tone. Havent used it as a snare head so I don't know what its like for that but they are very good tom heads.
Comments about Remo Pinstripe Coated Drumhead:
These are great heads. When tuned right you get a deep, warm tone that sounds pretty dang good. They are really durable.I'm not a real hard hitter but they could easily withstand hard hits.I did have to put moongel tabs on mine to reduce minor ringing but that not really that big of deal. I would recommend these heads to any drummer. These heads are worth the money so try them out.
