Realize the bass drum sound you've always craved.

The Powersonic bass drumheads give the drummer controlled mid-range and low end for the most powerful bass drum sound that's It, right out of the box.

The Powersonic bass drumheads are constructed of 2-ply 7-mil Mylar with two specifically placed internal subsonic dampening rings with External Snap-on Dampening System (ESDS) technology. The two mounted 3/4" internal dampening rings enhance low end without affixing trays or hard-backed dampening materials to the drumhead.

The unique patent pending ESDS system employs snaps mounted directly to the drumhead to eliminate the possibility of vibration. This allows you to easily customize your muffling, feel, and sustain for different playing situations by "snapping" the strategically placed weighted pillow to the drumhead. Also included is the Falam Slam for added attack and durability.

Features

  • Powersonic Bass, Clear, with Snap-on dampening system

Finally an easily customizable bass drum head for the ultimate kick sound. Order today!

I don't know why everybody is thinking this is the best thing since sliced bread.  Let me start with what bothers me the most, the floor mat that you are supposed to attach to the bottom to the domes that are another obstruction to the head. Then the 2 strips of foam that are on the inside of the head that you cannot remove if you want. I don't know how these made it to the market. It sounded like I was beating on a soaking wet cardboard box. I even took the ridiculous clip on piece off and they still sound too dampened. Everybody that likes these must have really bad kits for these to sound good. I put these on my new practice set of double bass Pearl Visions, I thought it was the lower quality set because I have always played on pro series sets ( my Pearl Masters and Tama artstars). I put on some Evans emad 2's and problem solved. They still aren't a pro sound but has some life to them. I bought the heads out of curiosity and the good reviews at the time. The emads are by far a better head and you have more flexibility with your sound. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Remo PowerSonic Bass Head

I like the Coated version better -

Quality:

Seemed well made

Value:

Good

Overall:

I liked the sound I got using the PowerSonic with an intact Ebony Remo PowerStroke 3 Reso Head - empty Bass.

For  me, I found that the Clear was good, but the Coated Batter without the  Falam Slam patch and without the Pad - Just the head without help - made  for an excellent sound. Enough resonance; enough Beater impact sound  with a hard felt beater; just enough pop and boom without boing or  excessive boom. An excellent sound without having to resort to using any  laundry. Normally, I tension the Reso higher than the Batter, but found  roughly equal tension on both Batter and Reso made the combination work  for me for most music genre'. PowerSonic seems to slightly accentuate the Low frequencies, which I like very much.

A fine sound out of the box.

A bit different sound, but equally appealing to me was a Clear PowerStroke 4 Batter used in conjunction with a Ported Remo Ebony PowerStroke 3 Reso.

I've had this head for about 8 months and I have no problems with it. If you haven't got good foot control, try using the large heavy Aquarian patch instead of the small Remo to help dampen the center. Or tape it up. I also use the Kick Port tuned high when I want a PS3 or jazz sound. You got to know how to tune too. This is more of a pro head than for a beginner.

I bought this a month ago. It is awful... It gives you a toneless clicking sound. I would only use this head if were playing speed metal or something where every stroke has to be clearly defined. It lacks any kind of tone at all. I hated it. Save your money and buy a powerstoke III instead.
