This pad feels very much like areal drum...plus you can "tune" it. By varying the tension, it gives you a better feel for real drumming. It also mounts on a standard cymbal stand.
My grandson wants to play everything...but losses interest too quick to justify buying a complete drum set. We got these pads and his interst is getting stronger and he IS improving! I will let him go a few more months "begging" for real drums (just like I did when I was his age). Next in our sights is a Pearl Forum kit! But he is getting a good sense of how a real dru m reacts to sticks. Good money spent on good results!

This pad is loud and annoying in my opinion. I can't stand the sound! Neither can everybody else in my presence. It feels somewhat close to a drum, but still. I wouldn't buy it. I would rather buying that electronic Roland mesh head practice pad, which is more realistic and better for PRACTICE, as a practice pad is meant to be used for.

Comments about Remo Practice Pad:
Although, according to my son, the practice pad does not sound exactly like a snare drum, it is perfect for practicing snare drum rudiments without disturbing the whole house. Also, the practice pad sits on the table and constantly begs to be played upon, so it is accomplishing the goal of perfecting the drumming rhythm. Excellent service, delivered a day early which was even better.

Comments about Remo Practice Pad:
Such an outdated pad!
It's annoyingly loud, it's constructed of cheap plastic that gets easily damaged by beginning students, and it hardly resembles the feel of an acoustic drum!
No one is striving to be a professional PAD player, so just get something that's quiet, has a solid body, and can handle the abuse of relentless drumming. Then get back on some real drums!

Fair price, quick free delivery, easy, efficient. Got what I expected. What more could you want?
Comments about Remo Practice Pad:
I don't understand the positive reviews on these things, I found mine to be horrible. Why does Remo even make these things? It doesn't react like any real drum i've ever hit, my wrists hurt after about 5 minutes of use. It's way too loud, and tune-able? yeah, I suppose if you want a different pitched KLAK sound. Extremely annoying, you might as well beat away on a piece of plywood.
Comments about Remo Practice Pad:
I got this thing yesterday and it's pretty sweet... it is a little loud but it's like a real snare. It feels like sandpaper just like a new head... it has the closest bounce, and sounds like a head... and what I liked most it that you can tune it... it's great
Comments about Remo Practice Pad:
This is a good practice pad, but it's far too loud. It's got a high-pitched pop sound. When I was on vacation in those condo-like places, my friend that was on the floor below us could hear it quite loudly. I wouldn't recommend this to bring with you everywhere you go. Also, like many others said, the rim is too high. I often hit it, but I don't hit the rim on my snare drum.
Comments about Remo Practice Pad:
This is a nice pad! But the finish gets worn easily. The rim is a little high but its not bad if u like to do rimshots. overall very nice.

Comments about Remo Practice Pad:
this is a really great pad i have the 8 inch and i love there was a point where it sounded better than my snare( not much of a bottom head)and it was ok but when im using it as a pad and i play a song like Black parade , or holiday when i play 16 teenth notes the rim gets in the way and i end up just hitting the rim and that and that 8 inches is a little small
