Tone Rings work well

| Review By: Jeffrey Lembke | 1 week, 1 day ago

Features:

Remos Tone Control Rings did just the trick to dampen the tone on my toms. I would have liked for the package to contain smaller rings for my smaller toms, but the 14" and 16" rings are what the drum doctor ordered.

Cheap reliable answer to overtones

| Review By: Thomas Freed | 1 month, 4 weeks ago

Features:

This is a cheap, reliable answer to that ringing overtone you'd like to get rid of.  These are my 3rd set.  I have three drum sets (practice, home practice and gigs) and am active in a band.  I use these on all my sets and carry them stored with my cymbals.  The original set is about 12 years old.  They'll last you forever.  Occasionally I will knock them off the drumm while playing, but this is few and far between.  If I had another drum set, I'd buy a fourth pair.

They Work On Antiques

Great value for the price.  They do exactly the job they are advertised to do.

Overall:

I have a "Ludwig Hollywood" twin tom-tom set that I bought in 1966.  A few years ago I had the drum shells refurbished and I have been adding  more "modern" accessories since then.  I am not presently in a band so I keep the drums in the basement where I practice.  I have been looking for something to tone-down the resonance to minimize interference with the rest of the family upstairs.  I've tried towels, cotton gauze and gels but nothing gave me the sound I was looking for.  These rings are great!  They not only reduce the resonance, they also give the tom-toms a nice "thuddy" sound that reminds me of Ringo.  These rings are one of the best investments that this aging rocker has added to his kit.
