      A warm skin-like tone.

The Remo Skyntone Drumhead offers a natural animal skin look and feel. For snare drums it produces warm gut-snare like sound with a standard wire snare. The head is slightly subdued and articulate, which makes it great for everything from live concert halls to clubs.

Replace your drumhead and fatten up your tone!

Vintage Sound At A Great Price!

              Comments about Remo Skyntone Drumhead:

If you're seeking a unique, warmer drum presence go to Skytones
Adding Remo's new Skytone batter head to my snare offers the slightly warmer, vintage sound of calf skin for just a few bucks. As a straight ahead jazz player, this is welcome change. The Skyntone head emphasizes the mid-frequencies and diminishes the often harsh highs of more commonly used heads. My snare is tuned tight as is typical for jazz. The sound I get from sticks or brushes is superb.

To create an even warmer tone, I recently added a Remo Rennaissance snare-side to the bottom. Wow! I liked the change so much that I now have Skintone batter heads on all my toms and went to a Fiberskyn Powerstroke 3 on my bass drum as well. I now have a unique, genuinely classic sound that often receives complements from the band members and the audience alike.

              Not only for the jazzhead

              Comments about Remo Skyntone Drumhead:

Okay so I was lookin for an ambassador head and my local shop was out. Well guess what, they were out. So they turned me on to try one of these. This thing can be tuned any way you want, and you get the same amount of response under any tension. I'm a drummer primairily for a melodic death metal band. My style of playing requires a really crisp snare sound, with a ton of cut minimal body and tons of volume. This head has it. Played loud or soft the head is great. If you get you better know how to tune a snare drum. Like my salesman said "If you don't like it, you didn't tune it right" cheers

You HAVE to try these Remo Skyntone Heads!

              By Jeff the Drummer

              Comments about Remo Skyntone Drumhead:

I absolutely LOVE these heads. I'm using them on both wood and metal drums and just couldn't be happier. They really help tame the slightly excessive "ping" of my stainless and bronze snare drums to the extent that I no longer need to use any muffling devices to get the drier snare sound that I prefer. They have a warm, focused sound and are very articulate. To me, they sound like a warmer version of the Remo Renaissance models, and are slightly brighter than Fiberskyns. I've found that Ambassadors and most other coated heads are way too rough when new to get a good brush sound - with the Skyntones, brush response is nice and wispy right out of the box. Not too rough, not too smooth - just right.I also tried these heads on my 13" and 14" toms with great results. At those looser tensions, the slightly less-pronounced attack keeps the toms from sounding too "thwacky" if you know what I mean. They have a soft feel while still maintaining good stick response and rebound. I can't really comment on durability yet, I just haven't played them long enough to require replacing. But frankly, with sound and feel this good, I'm really not concerned with durability - I'll take superior sound any day.If Remo doesn't expand this line into all sizes, they're NUTS! It would be nice to see bass drum sizes in both this same weight, as well as a little thicker film for the batter side too!REMO Product Development - are you listening? Amazing head!

              Comments about Remo Skyntone Drumhead:

After a good three years with my beautiful Tama snare drum, it was high time to replace the Genera G1 coated head that came with it, which lost the texture. As a jazz fiend, I bought this drum head with hopes for good brush playing. Tuning was a tad difficult, but is no problem if you know what you're doing. The tone is beautiful and has virtually no unwanted ring (fixed with an e-ring). As for playing, I have never enjoyed brushes more. The feel is soothing, almost therapeutic, when swirling and brushing. For the price, buy this head. On a side note, don't expect a deep sound for rock. This head is not made for a fat snare sound, but rather a crisp, sharp attack.
