A quick release makes putting it on and off fast and easy.

The Hat Trick® G2 is a significant step ahead from Rhythm Tech's original, featuring a unique Quick Release Knob that makes it fast and easy to put it on and take off the hi-hat pull rod.

Additionally the G2 incorporates a stick friendly soft playing surface, so stick patterns can be used as well as the foot pedal. A super strong polymer frame keeps it light and responsive whil famous Rhythm Tech nickel jingles give it bright, projecting classic Rhythm Tech sound.

Give your hi-hat a versatile new sound!

Comments about RhythmTech RT7420 G2 Hat Trick with Nickel Jingles:

Quick release and rubber rim make a great combination. It performed well for two nights in a row. The jingles are not some cheezy nut and hardened plastic instead of cheap metal with bad welds. I have been through 6 of these in 3 years. Please make a brass version as nickle does not carry only if you want 5 stars.

Comments about RhythmTech RT7420 G2 Hat Trick with Nickel Jingles:

Being a major fan of the first generation Hat Trick, I was excited to purchase and try the newer design from Rhythm Tech. The first couple of months it worked like a charm, was easy to store (typically in my stick bag) and the newer locking system didn't budge one bit on my hi-hat rod. However I started noticing the metal rings started developing a rust type material on the surface and not to long after the black rubber band holding the locking system cracked and broke off. While still playable, my G2 Hi-Hat is just like the original ching ring, loose and unstable.

I would suggest a stronger band or different locking design. I never had one issue with the first generation stripping it's locking thread, so I might look for an older one.

Comments about RhythmTech RT7420 G2 Hat Trick with Nickel Jingles:

nice tamb. sound with the chick of the hi hat. however, the stick sound is mushy...not well defined. Not sure if it needed a harder rubber/plastic striking surface, but if you're looking to slam on some tamb., you're going to have to get a mounted tamb. with a clamp.

        What a fun instrument

Comments about RhythmTech RT7420 G2 Hat Trick with Nickel Jingles:

overall a great item... especially for the jazz musician
The easy on off clutch works great in most cases however when playing 16th notes (with the foot pedal when the hihat clutch realeased) I found that the easy on off clutch did slip upward a little bit wich caused the hihat pedal itself to bottom out on the floor. I have since fixed this problem just by a small change in technique. If you are a very aggressive player I recommend the older hat trick that bolts to the hihat rod.
looks and feels very sturdy when playing it with sticks. The rim of the hat trick G2 is rubberized therefore there is very little stick clicking.
        great price for the product
