This Drum Throne offers what every drummer is looking for, durability, comfort, and great looks. Yeah, I know the last comment seems a far stretch but it goes without saying it really is a good looking throne. The materials used say "Rock and Roll!" and these materials just don't wear out. As for the durability, this throne has outlasted any throne I have ever purchased. I have been through 5 thrones until now. I have owned my Nitro throne for 8 years playing with a band that plays out 3 weekends a month every month. Set up..tear down...set up tear down. This throne just keeps up and not one part has failed or stripped out. I highly recommend this throne to any drummer that is working or non-working. This will be the last throne you will ever have to purchase.
The foam seat with stitched leather and plush cloth come in your choice of red or black. Not to mention with these features comes added comfort free of charge. The Nitro cylinder for raising or lowering the throne is a fantastic feature and is easy to operate with just a pull on the lever conveniently located under the right side of the cushion. This feature also gives you just that little bit of "Air Ride" suspension that is perfect for the drummer that needs that little bit of give when laying it down phat.
This throne is by far the most durable throne I have ever played on. Not one part of this throne has been damaged. I have been on the road for 8 years setting up and tearing down and this throne has outlasted all of my other equipment.
The value of this throne is well worth every penny spent. It seems at first a bit much for something that you would not think is added value to your overall investment like new shiny cymbals or new drum heads but this throne is an added feature to anyones kit.

I like everything about this throne but it's not for me. Unfortunately, it wasted my back in less than a month. I could not get comfortable and I really tried. I started to get really bad lower back pain and I'm now on my 5th chiropractor appt to ease the pain. For me, it was impossible to find a sweet spot. With a round throne you can kind of go where you need to be. With a tractor style seat you are in a set position. Also the leg cutouts are non-existent so if you sit high it's hard for your knees to be lower than your hips. With the ridge in the back, you better like where you're sitting because there's nowhere to move. A highly rated best seller and it will probably work for 90% of the players out there but there is a small percentage of drummers that this throne, or this style of throne, won't work for. And if you're squirming around trying to get comfortable, you can do some damage. Just take a bit of time in the shop and make sure it will work for you. If not, keep your receipt.

I've been playing for over a decade and this is the most comfortable throne I've ever sat on. Heck, it's one of the most comfortable things I've ever sat on. I can play for hours and I forget I'm even sitting because I barely feel it. I heavy metal to jazz and this thing feels great for all playing styles. It doesn't interfere with my ability to get sick speed on the double bass pedals.

Its a shame to spend a respectable amount of money on a new throne and find that you cant use it in the studio because it squeeks like an old station wagon!

Perhaps I got a one with minor defects, but more likely because I just use it daily.. but it squeaks upon movement which sometime can be heard on recordings (not cool). I have to try to lube this thing up I guess. Plus the knobs which hold the seat in different positions loosen too, but again, probably because I use it daily. I would still recommend it though... if on sale. (Oh, and I got the back piece to go with it too.)

I play congas seated and after several years sitting on whatever was available, I decided on a throne. Looked at and sat on many over the past 6 months. Sat on this one and knew right away -this one is great. It is easily adjustable to just the right height and rock solid. I can play longer without back discomfort. Should have gotten this years ago.

For years I used the cheap-o seat that came with my drumset. It always did the trick, but as it began to fall apart, the need for a new throne became imminent. I've always heard great things about Roc n Soc, and the price wasn't too bad, so I thought I'd go for it. WOW, I was blown away. It took all of 20 seconds to put it together and then, once I did, I didn't want to stop sitting on it. Before, after an hour of practicing, I'd have to take a break because my back or butt was hurting too much. Now, I could play for hours. It's crazy how much influence your throne has over your playing. This throne is definitely worth the extra $ over it's cheaper counterparts, without a doubt. The only drum seat out there worthy of being called a "throne"!
