This Drum Throne offers what every drummer is looking for, durability, comfort, and great looks. Yeah, I know the last comment seems a far stretch but it goes without saying it really is a good looking throne. The materials used say "Rock and Roll!" and these materials just don't wear out. As for the durability, this throne has outlasted any throne I have ever purchased. I have been through 5 thrones until now. I have owned my Nitro throne for 8 years playing with a band that plays out 3 weekends a month every month. Set up..tear down...set up tear down. This throne just keeps up and not one part has failed or stripped out. I highly recommend this throne to any drummer that is working or non-working. This will be the last throne you will ever have to purchase.
The foam seat with stitched leather and plush cloth come in your choice of red or black. Not to mention with these features comes added comfort free of charge. The Nitro cylinder for raising or lowering the throne is a fantastic feature and is easy to operate with just a pull on the lever conveniently located under the right side of the cushion. This feature also gives you just that little bit of "Air Ride" suspension that is perfect for the drummer that needs that little bit of give when laying it down phat.
This throne is by far the most durable throne I have ever played on. Not one part of this throne has been damaged. I have been on the road for 8 years setting up and tearing down and this throne has outlasted all of my other equipment.
The value of this throne is well worth every penny spent. It seems at first a bit much for something that you would not think is added value to your overall investment like new shiny cymbals or new drum heads but this throne is an added feature to anyones kit.

I like everything about this throne but it's not for me. Unfortunately, it wasted my back in less than a month. I could not get comfortable and I really tried. I started to get really bad lower back pain and I'm now on my 5th chiropractor appt to ease the pain. For me, it was impossible to find a sweet spot. With a round throne you can kind of go where you need to be. With a tractor style seat you are in a set position. Also the leg cutouts are non-existent so if you sit high it's hard for your knees to be lower than your hips. With the ridge in the back, you better like where you're sitting because there's nowhere to move. A highly rated best seller and it will probably work for 90% of the players out there but there is a small percentage of drummers that this throne, or this style of throne, won't work for. And if you're squirming around trying to get comfortable, you can do some damage. Just take a bit of time in the shop and make sure it will work for you. If not, keep your receipt.

This throne is great. Very soft and comfortabale. This is my first throne (being a new drummer) and I don't think I could have chosen a better one. I am big (245 lbs) and it takes my weight without any problems at all.

I am getting up in age and still drumming regularly. This throne did the trick for those 2 to 3 hour shows. My issue was the back but now all is much, much, better. Should have bought this throne sooner.

                  Comments about ROC-N-SOC Nitro Throne:

I'd been eyeballing this chair for more than a year, just didn't buy it because I'd just bought a Carmichael Throne a couple of years earlier, and was trying to get some mileage out of it. But even though The Carmichael was supposed to be good for the prostrate, I didn't have prostrate troubles. I had back troubles. Finally, after quibbling about it for another 6 months, and letting some of the other reviews deter me, such as a squeaky noise (that I thought some graphite oil or W4D would cure anyway), I went ahead and bought the Nitro Rock N Sock. I haven't had an ounce of back pain since I bought it! I like the "give" it offers in its hydraulics, and the seat itself also offers some give in its comfortable cushion. I have yet to walk up the stairs with severe neck and back pain, like I did with the other 2 stools. And if it did squeak (which it hasn't so far) -- I'd rather have a squeak you can oil, than back pain any day. I just wished I would've bought it sooner. But now I know! (And another reason I decided to just go ahead and get it, is because, if the hydraulic lift ever wears out, the seat is compatible with the Carmichael legs!) Definitely the nicest chair I've ever sat on -- and I sit for 4-5 hours at a time!

                    Comments about ROC-N-SOC Nitro Throne:

When I first bought my drum set, I bought a cheap throne, thinking what difference would a throne make. Well let me tell you that cheap thing about killed every part of my body. So I started looking for a better one, reading all the reviews on every different brand and I chose this one. I couldn't believe how expensive good thrones are, but if your going to stick with drumming, just go for it. It will be one of the best investments you make.

I was also worried about the bicycle seat style being in the way or something, but after using it, I like it a lot better than the round style. It does not get in the way and I think it actually helps my leg movement.

                    Comments about ROC-N-SOC Nitro Throne:

This throne is extremely comfortable and is proving a great addition to my practice studio. It looks really cool, too, which is not that important (let's be honest, you're typically sitting on it when it's in use and no one can see it) but if someone is visiting your space it will impress the eye.

Drawbacks I find are that it is relatively expensive and I have a tough time imagining taking it on the road to gigs without a dedicated protective case. In contrast, I had been using a pretty inexpensive PDP throne that I was never worried about messing up, but the negative impact on my posture and muscalture was pronounced.
