I purchased this clamp because I did not want to spend more than double for Roland's more expensive stand. I had a broken snare stand, so I was able to make a stand for my SPD-SX using this clamp. Another option is to use the bottom part of a cymbal stand. It is important to note that the arm on this clamp is not very long, so you will need to mount it on a horizontal stand/boom or near the top of a vertical stand in order for the pad to have enough clearance. I think this clamp is a bit over priced, but this is about your only option for your sampling pad without getting creative. Works well!

This clamp is rock-solid and well-built, fairly adjustable, and keeps your drum machine steady. However, it does not extend out very far from the stand you attach it to, so I cannot mount my SPS-S to lie flat. I must keep it at about a 30 degree angle or more. Also, it is very difficult to plug cords into the back of the SPD-S unless you keep the machine at an angle, because the stand gets in the way. Still, it's the only clamp for the SPD-S that I'm aware of, so what alternatives do we have? The outrageous price reflects this lack of alternatives. It's very convenient to be able to mount your machine to a stand though.

Comments about Roland APC-33 Drum Pad Clamp:

Bought this for my Alesis SamplePad. Fits the unit perfect with no modifications needed. Mounting holes lined up perfectly. Also comes with the mounting clamp. Perfect combination for a multi vendor mounting solution.

Clamp has one vertical and one horizontal side with endless mounting configurations.

Worked well with a stand I had already. I did not have to pay for the whole stand assembly.

          Just what I needed.

Comments about Roland APC-33 Drum Pad Clamp:

Purchased for my new Roland SPD-SX. I was worried that there was no mounting screws but the screws were already in the bottom of the SPD-SX. No problem mounting to a cymbal stand. The SPD-SX is so light that there is no worry about it falling over.

          Awesome clamp

Comments about Roland APC-33 Drum Pad Clamp:

The little guy is what you want if you want to add a drum module or a percussion controller to your acoustic kit. I got this to mount my TD-10/TDW-1 on a stand and it works great. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with screws. Other than that, awesome.

          Barely acceptable

          By Chicagogrooves

          from Chicago

Comments about Roland APC-33 Drum Pad Clamp:

The arm on this puppy is less than half the width of the Roland SPD-6 unit it was recommended to support. This means you basically need to have a horizontal bar to mount it on since it doesn't have clearance from any vertical bar. Without a rack, and wanting to keep my bags light, this thing offers little value to me over improvised solutions like chairs, etc..

Comments about Roland APC-33 Drum Pad Clamp:

I bought this for my Roland SPD-S 3 months ago and it has been simply wonderful, I can set that pad up in any position that I can think of. The unit is very well manufactured and extremely durable. It's a little difficult to disconnect the pad from the mount, but otherwise it fits my needs perfectly.
