I was looking for an electronic set to play and record with quietly in my basement without disturbing my neighbors and roommates. While I still disturb them, its not with this drum kit! The set feels and sounds completely real if you want it to. I love the mesh heads on both the kick and snare pads. I use a tama iron cobra double kick pedal with it and it works perfect. I have not had one misfire or sound that shouldn't have been there yet! Roland is truly the best at simulating a real drumming experience and yet making it so easy to record and play this set live. I love how you can customize each pad and even the triggers on the edge of the cymbals can trigger different sounds than the tops of them. The hi hat plays like a real hi hat. I am so happy I chose this set over a cheaper one as I have had cheaper ones before and nothing ever felt this good to play. I highly recommend you buy this now if you are thinking about it. You won't regret it.

Comments about Roland TD-11K-S V-Compact Series Electronic V-Drum Kit:

This thing is awesome. I got it from Guitar Center one day when all I went in to do was get some new drum heads, back in 2012. I sat down to see what electronic drums were all about and I was truly surprised at how absolutely real it sounds. I waited a couple days to buy, just to make sure it wasn't an impulse buy. I went back, tried a Behringer set and another one and it didn't have the sound or dynamics right. Roland got it right here. It sounds like I'm in a studio. The sensitivity to it is so realistic, which I didn't expect. Everything feels and sounds so real.

4 yrs later and it's still going strong. I can't see this thing wearing down ANY time soon, I'm sure I'll have it for many years to come.

The snare pad feel is spot on... it can be adjusted tighter or looser- however you're used to your snare. The other pads on this one are rubber and have good spring, but not too springy. Sure, it might feel a little different than how you have your drumheads, or how you have your bass drum head, but it's small enough that I adapted to it right away. The cymbal feel did not affect my playing at all. So yes, very good feel to it.

You can make your own kits and the many kit sounds, individual drum/cymbal/etc sound options, and the tone adjustment, etc, for each is just about endless. It comes with 50 pre-made kits for you, all sound great... super realistic. No need to go back to acoustic for someone like me who just plays at home. Best part-- use an aux jack to go to your music source and play along with your favorite stuff. Match your volume with their and rock on! Tip- go to youtube and type in "drumless tracks" :)

Comments about Roland TD-11K-S V-Compact Series Electronic V-Drum Kit:

I use this kit to play and practice on while I am living in a 4 bedroom house in a college neighborhood. Even with thin walls, my roommates can hardly hear anything and have no complaints about noise. The pads are incredible, specifically the bass and snare pads. The snare is a normal mesh pad that has pretty good sensitivity, and the bass is a softer foam, which gives the illusion of a loose bass drum head, making the transition between my acoustic kit and this kit very easy. The kit fits nicely in my small bedroom and can be folded to be smaller. It only took about an hour to set up and was very easy to hook up. This is an amazing kit for anyone looking for a quality kit for a relatively low price (for an electronic kit at least). Highly recommend to anyone, and will continue to recommend Roland drums, as they have been amazing for me.

The absolute best piece of drum equipment I've bought

Comments about Roland TD-11K-S V-Compact Series Electronic V-Drum Kit:

I did extensive research on e-kits before settling on this one because it's the lowest cost for a high quality kit. I picked up one of these units a year ago and immediately scolded myself for not getting one sooner. Living in apartments/duplexes with neighbors makes an electronic kit essential to practicing/writing.
It's incredibly easy to plug this into a computer and record through garageband. No lag/delay and it can record midi simultaneously.
I play in two bands, so it makes it easy to write various drum parts for songs in garageband. You download the driver, plug this thing in, and it's good to go. I simply have the guitarist record a demo and send me two tracks, one with a click and one without. I record to the click and then replace it with the track without a click. The sound of the demo is pretty incredible, infinitely better than any live demo recording.
With this electronic kit, you can really customize it. I've configured a kit to sound pretty similar to my own and to really shine through a mix. I tuned the snare and toms to emulate mine and locked in the bass drum sound I love. You can even customize how the pads respond to your hits. This is incredibly helpful if you want to play late and night so you can hit very softly but still have the pads respond like you smashed the heck out of them. My wife approves.
I'm a very hard hitter, but I do try to tone it down on this kit. After a year of daily playing, this kit is holding up like new. No issues. It picks up my double bass drum rolls perfectly.
Practicing on this kit directly translates to playing better on an acoustic kit. The feel is different, but the e-kit really makes you nail every hit or it shows, painfully so. It forces you to play better. I've noticed huge improvements in my playing since getting this kit.
As far as writing and practicing goes, this kit is invaluable. It's also a ton of fun to play around with the various kits loaded on this thing. Get one!

Comments about Roland TD-11K-S V-Compact Series Electronic V-Drum Kit:

My 16-year-old son is the drummer for the praise and worship band at church. Until recently, he was using a 5-piece acoustic drum kit with a shield to reduce the volume and control the 'punchy' sound that seemed overbearing in our church building. Our building holds about 300 people comfortably, so his powerful playing style was bothering some of our members. After replacing the acoustic kit with this awesome set, everyone has been very pleased with the result. This kit has an amazing sound and allows so many different tones. My son has been thrilled to be able to explore the versatility of this product and he can't say enough about the fun he's having while playing at church. This kit does not come with a kick pedal or a throne, so we added a nice TAMA kick pedal and a PDP throne to the mix for a 'Ben Franklin', and we were off and running...

Bought this kit for my son for while he is away at college. At first I bough a less expensive (Alesis) one - tied to save some cash - but you definitely get what you pay for... got rid if the Alesis and bought this one - FAR better quality and sound. My son LOVES it...!
Sounds and Plays great and portability is a big plus.

Perfect for the price, they sounds really great. Other e-drums in this price range just don't sound as good. I tried to get something cheaper too but this just hit the stop. All the tones sound good. This is my second Roland Kit and there is a lot of improvement on this one from my prior old one.

These are great.I ordered the tdk4p kit first just to use at practice and was happy with them until one of the cymbals started acting up.I called musicians friend and as always they were helpful on the return and I decided to upgrade.I took this set out on a live gig and after some adjusting they worked out great.our soundman was dead set against electronic drums until he heard them and then there were no complaints.the great thing was it took me about 10 minutes to set up and the same time to tear down which is great at 2:00 am.would highly recommend these for practice or small venues.
