Coming from acoustic drums so some getting used to the smaller size heads but will just make me a more accurate player.

Love the dynamics and feel of the QUIET mesh head pads! NO cross-triggering as some other brands had when tested while power playing. Easy interface to create custom kits.

Lots of sound editing options available but except for volumes and a couple tunings, haven't needed to change anything.

Can't find anything to complain about except maybe the lack of extra inputs for expansion down the road.

Some other blogs mentioned the hi-hat being not that great but after upping the volume some and adjusting the pedal travel, I'm getting the hang of it.

It is full featured with foot open, semi closed and fully closed, with pedal splash, as well as full cymbal strike tones. Just got to get used to not SEEING it working!

All-in-all, I really love this set!

One hint - DO fully read the stand setup directions as it's VERY easy to reverse parts and have to re-assemble it. :)

Comments about Roland TD-11KV-S V-Compact Series Electronic Drum Kit:

I hadn't played drums since college and this my first set to own. I'm blown away by the sound quality and the sensitivity of the hi-hat. The control box is super easy to use and I was up and running in no time at all.

It does take a few hours to set up. Lot of assembly required, but it's not hard.

I downloaded some custom kits which improved the sound even more than the stock sounds which weren't bad to begin with.

Comments about Roland TD-11KV-S V-Compact Series Electronic Drum Kit:

Never thought I'd play an electric kit, but NOW I am. Wife purchased for christmas as she knew I couldn't play my Pearl acoustic kit as much as I'd like due to the noise at late hours. Enter the TD-11KV-S kit. Having played for over 30 years and having never been overly impressed with e-kits was very surprised she bought these for me. The mesh heads WILL take some getting used to, but mostly due to the years of acoustic only playing. Setup was fairly easy with the purchase of the matching stand. Being a lefty, there MAY be issues trying to move the snare pipe clamp from the H bar to the other side, but for now, the clamp is in the stock location with snare still playable left handed. Controller is very easy to use with MIDI, USB, metronome, song play-along, and training exercises to boot. About the only complaint I had was the stock sounds. Please remember having played for soo many years on only acoustic maple kits have left me rather picky on the sounds I like, so others may not have issue with the stock sounds. The day after setting them up decided to replace all the stock sounds with VEX Apex for the TD-11. Cost a little, but what good in life is free anyway ?? IMO, the VEX Apex kits (sounds) were VASTLY superior to the stock kits. Added MUCH more enjoyment for my playing. Wife also bought a matching wedge style Drum Amp/Speaker which is MORE than enough for times when earbuds alone aren't enough. Highly recommend with or without replacing the stock kits.

Comments about Roland TD-11KV-S V-Compact Series Electronic Drum Kit:

I'm tired of lugging my drums, cases, cymbals, and all the extra stuff I've acquired over the years. I was waiting for a decent kit at a reasonable price, and Roland delivered. I was triggering acoustic drums in the early nineties with Fishman triggers on the shells using an Alesis D4, so for me having them in the mix is preferred. We recently retired our country band (not a sleepy boom chuck band, we rocked!) and started a Rock/Blues power trio, with a wide variety of songs..so I'm looking forward to having some options coming from my kit. I'll be 60 years old in a little over a year, and thought I would retire, since you can't find roadies anymore. (Hey, I paid, I paid well!)so the easier teardown is important to me. I'm selling all my gear I've accumulated over the years (New Gretsch Maple Catalina just 2 years ago)and counting my band money (You know, the kind your wife doesn't know about...) and getting me a new Roland!

Comments about Roland TD-11KV-S V-Compact Series Electronic Drum Kit:

This is my second Roland kit, but the first with the mesh heads. The head response and feel are second to none in the industry. As others have noted, there are 25 built-in kits, and 25 slots to design your own. I'd rather have 40 prefab kits and 10 custom kit slots for specific applications. Not a big deal though. The built-in practice features are helpful, both for patterns and play-along. My only gripe, if I had one, would be the hi-hat. It isn't as sensitive as I'd like for funk and intricate hi-hat play, but I'm still playing with the pad sensitivity, which can be adjusted. The interaction between the hi-hat pedal and hi-hat require a bit of learning, specifically timing open/closed and washy, as it isn't quite the same as an acoustic hi-hat. Though there is a built-in double bass with a metal kit using the hi-hat pedal as the second bass pedal, I still prefer to use double pedals because the tension between my bass drum pedals and this trigger aren't the same. Final thoughts: the TD11-KV is, in my opinion, a high quality kit taking elements of Roland's higher end kits (TD15 and TD30) and combining them into an affordable, compact package. For the record, I'm a lefty, and it was pretty straight forward to wire the kit up for us backwards types. And now I can play 24/7 without waking the house or disturbing the neighbors!

Comments about Roland TD-11KV-S V-Compact Series Electronic Drum Kit:

I bought just the TD-11 module to upgrade my TD-4 set and glad I did. Very inexpensive (thank you for making this at a reasonable cost!) and I now essentially have a new kit. The sounds on this are really good, much better than the TD -4 but are unfortunately too few in number.
I wish Roland would just make a basic kit for each style then start adding the jungle drums and techno stuff.
I just got it yesterday so I can't say much more but I feel good about the money spent!

Comments about Roland TD-11KV-S V-Compact Series Electronic Drum Kit:

This set is so much fun. I originally bought it so that I could play in the house and not annoy everybody while I practiced for hours. My favorite thing is how easy it is to connect an Ipod to it and just play along to whatever. The bass drum is a little loud and can be heard in the next room though.
The mesh heads are just fantastic and feel great. They are adjustable to stiffnes. The cymbals are fun in the fact that they are chokeable and the ride has 3 zones, the crash has 2 zones, the hi hat has 2 zones, so you can set your drums up to have a total of 7 cymbals. The hi hat is one of the things I hate worst about the set, the foot pedal is not as responsive as you would like. It's almost like you have to open the hi hat sooner that you really would just to get the "opening" sound. The bell of the ride is hard to hit most of the time, you have to hit the right spot just to get the bell sound. You can add an additional cymbal or drum to the control panel, but just one, which I found to be a disappointment. I wanted and additional cymbal and tom.
If you live in America, you'll be lucky enough (Don't understand why) to have the drum rack in the package for free, although it's not great. It is very sturdy and holds all your basic toms and such, but it is not very adjustable. The hight is the biggest issue, if you like to play with your drums up high, this stand will make you angry. If you want to add an additional tom, this stand will make you angry.
My final complaint is the drum module. It's amazing how little sounds they really have. There are only about 8 snare sounds ranging from a complact to maple. And as far as I know, you cannot download sounds.
These complaints are pretty minor, mind you. The kit itself is great, plays great, but if your pet peeves are in what I described, I hope I helped.
