Powered by SuperNATURAL technology, the TD-15 Drum Sound Module provides outstanding playability, superb expressiveness, and pro-level operation. Powerful and affordable, this V-Drums sound engine is ideal for both the live stage and recording studio.
New Lightweight V-Pad PDX-100 for Snare and Floor Tom

Attractive Chrome-look V-Pad for Rack Toms
The PD-85BK 8-inch dual-zone V-Pad for toms features Roland's acclaimed dual-triggering technology, resulting in more consistent and accurate sensing between the head and rim. Superb Hi-hat Expressiveness with V-Hi-Hat
With eyes closed, drummers will think they're playing a regular two-piece hi-hat. Great for fast setup and easy transport, the VH-11 mounts on conventional hi-hat stands, and provides a similar playing feel to a two-piece hi-hat.

Comments about Roland TD-15KV-S V-Tour Series Electronic V-Drum Kit:
This kit has a great sounding variety of tom sounds, snare sounds, & some decent kick drum sounds, but that's it. This kit is advertised with a realistic Hi-hat Stand that is described as feeling completely natural. Well it doesn't come with one & it feels natural because after spending All that money you still must go out & buy a real stand. This thing only comes with two power cymbals & they do not have dual triggers. You hit the side, it makes a sound, you hit the top, it makes a variation of that same sound. The sound samples are horrible & I found only one cymbal I actually liked. If you love to just jam on the Ride all day & night then you're set because nearly every preset kit is loaded with ride cymbals, but if you want to slam some rock or metal, don't waste your money. Not even the sound of the rim on the snare can be changed. If you change the snare sound, the rim changes with it to a variation of that newly set sound. Another major issue is the connector for all the cables that goes into the module. All the cables merge into one super jack. This means if one cord shorts out, you can not just grab another guitar cable and switch it out, instead I guess you'd have to order a whole new super chord set. (If they even make them for individual sale.) Don't read this & think I'm just here to insult the brand "Roland". I'm in a band & just finished recording all the drums on our newest album using a really Old Roland TD-3, which has been used by three previous owners, & it is so much better than this new one. My old Roland TD-3 has better sounding cymbals & the cymbals are dual triggered so even though I only have four physical cymbals (in comparison to this TD-15KV-S only having 3, 2 if you don't have a spare hi-hat stand laying around) but my old kit has dual triggers on all four cymbals so I actually have eight cymbals I can play at any given time, on top of having a dual triggered snare which allows me to have one sound set for the center of the snare & then a completely different sound for the rim.
- Compact For Gigging
- Easy To Use Module
- Great Sound
- Hi-hat Requires Precision
- Needs Expensive Monitor
- Not Cheap
Comments about Roland TD-15KV-S V-Tour Series Electronic V-Drum Kit:
I must keep my acoustic set at someone else's home where we rehearse, because acoustic drums are equivalent to eviction from my townhouse. For several years I had been practicing on pad at home, but paradiddle will not propel you too far. Eventually the pent up anger and irresistible itch to practice and improve on full set at home have boiled to the point where I decided to invest my scant savings into this expensive toy.
... And the toy has not disappointed.
A teacher on Drumeo.com has brilliantly stated about electronic drums: "they just make you practice more and more". I will say the same about my Roland TD-15 KV. It's simply phenomenal that I can put on headphones and play for hours without annoying anyone else and destroying my ears as acoustic drums do. Roland TD-15 module provides plenty of ways to adjust volume for overall set and individual sources of sound: hats, toms, snare, cymbals, etc...
Overall, I am very satisfied with this model. The feel of sticks on drums and cymbals is very close to acoustic drums, and sensitivity of playing surfaces is superb. Please note that these are still electronic drums, and they will not sound exactly like acoustic set; however, the difference between the two, I could say, is very similar to difference between a quality acoustic piano and quality digital piano.
My few gripes about this instrument are:
- KD-9 bass pad feels somewhat harsh, little less responsive, and less stable than acoustic bass drum. The acoustic sound of beater hitting the pad is also much louder that the rest of TD-15 surfaces. To improve the feel and damp the room sound, I replaced the hammer on my DW 9000 pedal with fluffy old-school Vater Long Range Bomber Beater. In the future I definitely plan to replace it with more realistic, much quieter, and much more sturdier models of bass pads by Roland, which are used on more expensive models of V-Drums.
- Hi-hat requires precise and very consistent stick/pedal action to sound even, especially when playing with sticks while opening/closing pedal. Acoustic hi-hats are more forgiving in this sense. But I look at it from the positive perspective: every drummer must learn to play as accurately as possible. FYI, I use DW 9500 Hi-Hat stand and it works great.
- I have tried playing this kid through someone else's mid-range stereo speakers and was amazed how much better this kit sounds in headphones. If you plan to use the room sound, be ready to invest into expensive, powerful stereo monitoring system.
I am quite satisfied with 50 factory kit sounds in TD-15 module. Some are cheap, some are good, and some are very good. Very luckily, you can tweak and customize these sounds and even entire kits in many ways.
I have not yet tried the recording aspect, but it's definitely coming because I plan to collaborate on recording project with my friends in another city. Bottom line, V-Drums are much cheaper and easier to record that acoustic.
Overall, I am happy with the investment. The mere fact that quality electronic drums such as TD-15 allow many drummers to enjoy a quality practice literally at any time they wish is already priceless. ... And you ears will also love this purchase :))
