OVERVIEW

Dynamic, expressive playability and quick customization.

A mid-level kit for home or studio, TD-25KV is equipped with a sound engine derived from the flagship TD-30 and delivers all the acclaimed expressiveness that makes Roland' top-line V-Drums the undisputed choice of pro players everywhere. A streamlined interface makes it easy to create personalized kits, while the built-in audio recording function lets you capture drum performances for evaluation and sharing. Other premium features include mesh-head pads for a natural feel, positional snare sensing for enhanced expression, and the VH-11 V-Hi-Hat for playing with authentic hi-hat techniques.

Unrivaled Sound and Expressiveness
The TD-25KV delivers a superior drumming experience, thanks to Roland' SuperNATURAL technology with Behavior Modeling inherited from the flagship TD-30. The sound engine responds naturally and organically to your playing in every way, providing the dynamic, interactive feel that' essential for reaching the highest levels of musical expression. From rim shots, rolls, flams, and ghost notes on the snare to dramatic crash hits and sustained cymbal swells, every nuance is detailed, accurate, and ultra-smooth.

High-End Feel and Playability
When you sit down at the TD-25KV, you™ll enjoy expressive playability that rivals high-end V-Drums sets. There' a full compliment of mesh-head pads for the legendary V-Drums feel, with positional sensing on the snare pad that provides subtle, organic tonal changes depending on where the pad is struck. The cymbals have a natural swinging motion and support chokes, bow/edge sounds on the crash, and bow/edge/bell sounds on the ride. Mounting on a standard hi-hat stand, the VH-11 V-Hi- Hat features open/closed motion and bow/edge sounds for executing traditional playing techniques to perfection. Last but not least is the KD-9 Kick Pad, which offers a natural-feel cloth head and rock- solid response.

Call Up Kits and Start Playing Immediately
With its no-nonsense interface, the TD-25KV' sound module lets you enjoy playing great sounds for any music right away. Easy to grab while holding sticks, the large center dial allows you to quickly select kits based on music styles such as standard, rock, jazz, electronic, and others. After you™ve selected a style, press the dial to toggle between different kit variations. Next step? Start playing!

Customize Kits for Your Personal Style
The TD-25KV makes it simple to edit sounds to suit your playing touch or a specific style of music. Just hit a pad to call up the sound assigned to it, and then use the module' knobs to select instruments and tweak tuning, muffling, and levels. Handy shortcuts greatly speed up tom editing, allowing you to assign sounds and change the muffling and tuning for all the toms at once. Your changes are saved automatically as you edit, eliminating the need to fuss with extra steps. If you don™t like your most recent tweaks, you can easily undo them and return to where the kit was at when you first selected it.

Play Along with Tracks and Record Audio Performances
Want a little jamming music to play along with? Just load up a USB memory stick with favorite WAV/MP3 songs and get lost in playing for hours. In addition to normal playback, you can loop sections you™d like to work on, or slow the playback speed to more easily learn fast fills and articulations. Alternately, you can plug a smartphone into the audio input and drum with songs from your music library or the web. It' also possible to record your drumming performances (along with music playback) as audio files to a USB memory stick, offering a great way to evaluate your playing and share your drumming with friends and music producers. The sound module is equipped with a USB host port as well, providing a convenient connection for recording audio and MIDI data directly into DAW software.

Kick pedal, hi-hat stand and drum throne are not included. Includes setup guide and drum key.

Comments about Roland TD-25KV V-Tour Drum Kit:

This set sounds and plays awesome. I was looking for an alternative to my acoustic set so that I could have more practice time without driving my family crazy. It also has worked out for having jam sessions in my basement since most of the time the other guys were having to crank it up just to be heard over the drums. The variations of sounds and responsiveness is amazing. The only potential negatives that I could even think to mention is that the cymbals are not as responsive as the drums. The hi-hats have to be opened pretty far to get that closed to open pssss sound. However, I think the only way it could be any better is to use actual cymbals. The only other thing have noticed is that there is a definite sweet spot on the bass drum module that is not impacted when you have the mallets offset for a double pedal. It still sounds good but it seems like that is something that could be easily corrected in the design. Not sure if the larger module on the 30 series has a bigger sweet spot but I would not be willing to pay that much more to find out.

Comments about Roland TD-25KV V-Tour Drum Kit:

These drums are a pleasure to play. The quality of the pads and hardware is great. The response, sound and feel is amazing. I watched all the videos on you-tube and wondered if the V-drums would perform as well when played aggressively in person as they seemed to online. They do, and I think they will last for years without any problems. The only con I would have is also with the cymbals and how they respond to the sticks, seems I need to play them harder than I'm use to, although the sounds I get are very true to cymbals. I know I can adjust the volume level of each cymbal and may be able to adjust the response sensitivity. Need to dig deeper into the menu!
I've been playing drums for a few years, received my first Slingerland kit for Christmas in 1966, still have them and still play them! When the first electronic drums came out, late 70's I think. I was one of those who said " I will never own or play them", I am truly glad I change my mind and purchased these TD-25KV V Tour drums ! I'm looking forward to many years of enjoyment playing these!

Comments about Roland TD-25KV V-Tour Drum Kit:

I'm a novice and had a Yamaha DTXplorer for a few years with an updated DTX502 brain and decided I wanted an upgrade (more because of the pads and less because of the brain). But the TD-25KV sounds so much more full than the 502 and the kit editing is far easier. There aren't as many sound choices but I think I can live without most of the extra voice kits. The mesh heads are much quieter than the rubber heads of the DTX so family isn't bothered (plus they feel better) and I like having the more realistic Hi Hat (although it is still a single piece on the stand). I have no complaints so far and the kit does have one expansion port which I threw a BT-1 on for percussion sounds.

This is a fun kit to play and practice on. Great response. Compact. I upgraded to these from the Roland TD-11s and I couldn't be any happier. I added a 4th tom to emulate my acoustic. Fit it like a charm.

Comments about Roland TD-25KV V-Tour Drum Kit:

I've owned this set for 8 months now and I still can't wait to get home from work and play. I use this set primarily for practice and some classic garage jamming with friends.

The sound is very realistic, extremely responsive with a great range from light playing to a hard snap, and the drum pads have a very realistic feel. The cymbal pads are very durable, though since they are rubber topped you can feel a difference, but in my opinion the difference is not large enough to warrant any sort of change in playing style and like the drum pads they have great responsiveness and range of hit sensitivity.

The hi-hat sensor combo produces a great sound and is very easy to use compared to real hi-hats. When I first received it I had a 8+ year old/sub-par hi-hat stand, due to this I found myself getting frustrated with the sensor responsiveness and thinking the sensor was the issue. I did some research, and purchased new dw-3000 hi-hat stand, adjusted the spring resistance to max and this completely remedied the situation and I have had nothing but great performance from the hi-hat combo.

I use a dw-3000 double bass pedal and I have had no issues with the kick pad. I recommend buying a Remo Falam Slam kick pad to protect the sensor. It helps any indentation issues and more importantly keep the debris from a felt pedal from getting into the sensor. There is a slight indentation on the sensor pad but over 8 months of heavy playing it is to be expected and it hasn't changed the performance at all.

The software is great for practicing new songs, especially when using the USB feature. It allows you to rewind songs with a push of a button, and can reduce the speed of the song for practicing tricky fills.

As a final comment the drum rack/stand is of high quality and I have been able to put the set into any configuration I prefer. It's very easy to make small adjustments to the pads and cymbals as well.

Overall I love this set and would highly recommend it!

Comments about Roland TD-25KV V-Tour Drum Kit:

Electronic drums face a tough challenge for anyone playing music more subtle than your standard rock/pop arrangement. If your standard rock-and-roll drum set is all you need, the TD-25KV will meet your needs and then some! Otherwise, you'll have to set your expectations to understand that no electronic set will provide the sensitivity and versatility of acoustic drums and cymbals.

On the positive side, the set comes loaded with a bunch of great-sounding drum and cymbal sounds. Each item has adjustable pitch and muffling, so you can really fine-tune your sound and have a bunch of wildly-different sets for use with just a little twiddling on the controller. The mesh heads on the snare and toms have and excellent feel and can themselves be adjusted tighter or looser without changing the sound of the associated drums. The set is also much lighter than its acoustic counterpart, so moving it around should be simpler (of course, you need a heavy amp).

Limitations of this set depend on how you want to use it. While it generally can reproduce complex stick work like flam drags, the volume of individual strokes can be inconsistent--providing an uneven sound. Non-standard sounds like a cross-stick on the snare or bell strikes on the cymbals are considerably more difficult to achieve. Also, an electronic set of this quality should come with a wider array of auxiliary percussion sounds; this set is limited to a couple of wood blocks and cowbells. Maybe the TD30 series overcomes these limitations, but that set is just too expensive for casual players. Finally, expansion is limited, with only one open input (nominally assigned to a splash cymbal), so if you need timpani, chimes, or other elaborate sounds an Octopad may still be in your future.

Overall, this set is a worthy and capable replacement for a high-quality acoustic set, but have realistic expectations and understand that it's a slightly different beast.

Comments about Roland TD-25KV V-Tour Drum Kit:

i bought the td 25kv to replace my alesis dm10 studio and pearl vbx drums. right off the bat i realized the stand comes as one piece and is stable vs. the alesis where i had to painstakingly assemble and the rack would collapse every 30 minutes or so. also the trigger cables are consolidated to one slot under the module. this maybe good or bad, good for simplicity of connections but bad if a cable splits or gets worn then you would have to replace the whole part. also the drums sound more realistic but with fewer patches than my dm10.
the mesh heads are also really quiet but the cymbals are louder.
also the brains of the module is the td 30 but streamlined. i wished there was more than one backing track built in, instead you would need to download v drums friend jam which is only available for mac and pcs. sorry google fans.
i would strongly recommend this drumkit or the td 25k which is less expensive but with the same td 25 module.

I've lived in a small house the past few years and never had enough space for my acoustic drum set. I finally saved up enough to buy a nice electric one. Just got this one about a month ago and not one bad thing to say about it. Fits perfectly in a corner doesn't take up too much space. The sound and response is surprisingly perfect. So many options and versatility with customization of each pad. Worth the money...bravo Roland.

I purchased an entry level set years ago (TD-3) and was very pleased with its sound engine at that time.
However my new set sets a new benchmark for sound engines in the mid price range of my TD-25KV.
