Comments about Roland TD-9KX2-S V-Tour Series Drum Set:
I have a great looking acoustic kit with a slew of Zildjian's, but it was all for looks as I could not play it in my apartment building. Playing out on gigs was the only time I got the satisfaction. I bought this kit and it is AWESOME! I owned a Yamaha DTXpress years ago, and that thing was a piece of junk compared to this.Seriously the mesh heads on the snare and toms completely blow this thing away. The response back feels like you're playing an acoustic kit. And honestly the cymbals are amazing! That was always my pet peeve with electric kits, how crappy the cymbals sounded. Not with these. The ride has three trigger zones on it and it's great to have that option to either play the bell, the bow or the edge for different sounds.I do not play these through a sound system as of yet. I have a nice pair of headphones that I put on to play. I also hook up my iPhone and jam along to songs. The only negative review I can give on this kit would be that the TD9 module headphone output is not nearly loud enough. I've read a lot of comments on the same topic, and one solution is to buy a headphone amp for around $40 or $50. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this kit. A lot of fun, a ton of sounds to play with, tons of customizations, and my kids love it also. Great job Roland!
