Comments about Roland TM-2 Drum Trigger Module:

I've only had the Roland TM-2 module for a few weeks and haven't quite figured all the settings, effects, and parameters yet. The directions in the included manual don't provide a lot of detail. I paired the module with the Roland BT-1 bar trigger pad. So far I've used the module and pad for accessory sounds like tambourine or claps because I haven't figured out how to adjust loop tempo. That would be my only complaint that loop tempo may or may not adjust. However, customized loops off of a mac downloaded to an SD card should solve that problem. Overall that module works just as advertised and definitely has a lot of potential. I rated it 4 out of 5 due to the lack of detail in the instruction manual.

Comments about Roland TM-2 Drum Trigger Module:

The TM-2 is the first ever electronic sound addition I have ever made to my drum kit. Overall I am pleased with the purchase. For the money you easily add electronic sounds to your kit. I have used "split" cable adapters to be able to attain 4 input signals, thus 4 different sounds. To me personally, if there is a short coming is the fact there are only 2 dual trigger inputs. This could be marketing strategy for the next product offering, however it is as advertised , and I am having a blast. Adding the electronic element to my kit is something I am eager to continue. There is no turning back now.

Comments about Roland TM-2 Drum Trigger Module:

The Roland TM-2 is great! I had been looking for a drum module/drum brain that would integrate with an acoustic drum set for a while, and finally found this one. It is not as expensive or has all the bells and whistles as some other drum brains, but is just what I need. Lots of sounds, the ability to upload your own sounds, and it just works great. The Roland triggers work well with it too, especially since they have built in settings for you to tweak to fix any problems of latency, retriggering, etc. I don't have any problems with triggering or pads. For the price, you can't beat this system. I use it every time I drum for cowbells, chimes, claps, etc. - anything I need that is just not present in my acoustic set. And it blends perfectly. Only con is that you only have 2 inputs (well, 4 if you use a stereo to mono splitter as Roland suggests). However, it should be noted that if you use a splitter to get 4 inputs instead of just 2, the dual triggering does not work. For instance, with 2 inputs, you can hit them at the same time, and both sounds will be recreated. But any channel that has 2 inputs, only one of the sounds will be made if you hit them both at the same time (for instance, if you use the splitter or use the Roland snare trigger that triggers through the head and rim, you can hit the head and rim at the same time, but only 1 sound will come out, whichever is hit first; thus, you can't do any flams or simultaneous hits). I don't find this to be too much of a problem though, and can move the sounds around to get what I need. If you just need some aux percussion added to your set, or want to trigger some sounds here and there, this drum brain and it's triggers will definitely take it to the next level. I love mine, would buy it again, and would definitely recommend to a friend.
