Comments about Sabian AA Crash Cymbal Set with Free 10" Splash:

I bought these cymbals to match some older models, and while these did not match up well with those, as a package, they sound great together!

Comments about Sabian AA Crash Cymbal Set with Free 10" Splash:

first i have to say i am a metal drummer primarily, but in a softer rock band. these are versatile cymbals that can do everything i need and even if i was only doing metal i'd still get these. i had 2 rock crashes but didn't like them at the time, one broke so i got these. These cymbals are great. the 18 is my favorite crash. it makes the perfect sound for me. i would not change a single thing about it, and i would not trade it for any other crash no matter how expensive it was because they just nailed it with this crash. the general sound between the 2 crashes is slightly washy, they don't have the gongish ring heavy crashes have. they sound good at lower volume. perfect for the fading in crash effect. the 18 sounds huge, powerfull (especially for a medium thin) and very wet (in my words). the 16 is not at powerfull. i kinda wish it was just a little bit thicker, it's just a tad to washy but it still sounds very good. it makes a beautifull sound and the pitch compliments the 18 perfectly. the splash makes a strange wizzing sound when i hit it. it makes no sense to me and i'm sure that they aren't all like that. if a crash wizzed i'd be mad... but it's an effects cymbal and it actually is kinda cool. i noticed it emidiatly but it hasn't bugged me, and the sound besides that is just right. for my secondary splash anyway... i have an aax 10" splash and they go perfectly together. the aa is thicker and higher pitched and less washy. i prefer the aax, and i've had that one for a while. between the two i have all the variety of splash that i want. aax is for wet sounds, aa is for more articulate quick fills, it's more punchy. after looking into a second splash i thought the aa 10" was the only other one that sounded good to me. i was lucky they have this pack for that reason cause i wasn't really going to go buy another splash.
i have a sabian aa 18" rock that i think provides a good contrast to these. it provides the heavy gong crash sound that fills the room. and when i want to hit hard i hit that. it's a different sound completly. they make different energy in music. thiner cymbals move the song forward more, giving the music an unidentifiable vibe of progression and build up having less attack initially and a more consistent volume afterwards. heavy crashes have a louder attack and the volume of the crash sound drops quickly while they start just ringing. usually not pleasent for the music in my opinion. sorry for my spelling.

Comments about Sabian AA Crash Cymbal Set with Free 10" Splash:

Love all of them. Very bright and responsive with just the right amount of decay. Love the 16in very punchy and explosive when given a good smack. 18in is my main cymbal and i love it. Splash is also wonderful actually sounds like a real splash compared to my B8 pro 10in splash which sounds similar to a cowbell. Think im going to try the aax series

      Just the sound I needed

Comments about Sabian AA Crash Cymbal Set with Free 10" Splash:

Great cymbals, I've been a fan of Sabian for a while now. Actually bought these to replace my 18" AA medium crash and 20" AA rock crash. Such a nice bright cutting sound with a beautiful tone, the others were just a little too heavy/low sounding for my taste. Buying in a set saved like $60 from buying them separate and I needed the 10" Splash which is so much better than a B8 Splash I had, it sounded more like a cow bell, the AA is all splash. The Sabian AA will never let you down sound wise, I also have a 14" AAX X-plosian which is cool too. Great buy for a couple AA crash and splash.
