Great rock cymbal

By cowpie875@aol.com

from LaGrange Park, IL

Comments about Sabian AA Series Thin Crash:

This is a great cymbal. It is very loud, with a medium sustain, and it holds up very well when you're smashing it. I highly recommend it!

Another Fantastic Cymbal Form Sabian

By Anonymous Drummer2

from Winnipeg, Manitoba

Comments about Sabian AA Series Thin Crash:

I bought an AA 14" Thin Crash, and put it next to my AAX 15" Studio Crash, and they compliment each other perfectly.AA 14" Has beatiful tone, with enough cut for just about any style of music. Still has enough warmth to not sound to harsh, ar "brittle." You hard hitters out there, this cymbal isn't really meant for you, I suggest the AA medium Crashes, they have sufficient cut with amazing clarity. Thanks Sabian.

Comments about Sabian AA Series Thin Crash:

I needed a thin crash to contrast out my "heavy" metal and rock crashes. The classic sound is perfect! It's a little bit of a darker tone and shimmer - not as bright as my heavy crashes - and the crash dissipates quickly, which is also great in rounding out my "crash" sound - no long, drawn-out overtones. It is also very responsive - hit it hard, get a hard crash; it is soft, get a soft crash. Soft crash? Is there such a thing? With this cymbal there is! It is very versatile, and over the course of some years, it has become my favorite crash. No lie, I hit this crash more than I crash my other two crashes combined. When or even if it cracks (I've had it for 20+ years now), I will buy another one.

great cymbal! but a little too this perhaps?

Comments about Sabian AA Series Thin Crash:

ive been playing this cymbal for a whole year now and its been the highlight of my kit.. plus it cuts through ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING!but apparently IM a hard-hitter!!ive been striking my cymbal sideways, not straight down (exactly as the advise) and carrying it in a padded cymbal bag. the metal from this cymbal just gets too exhausted i guess after so many hours of intense use and just cracks at the slightest sign of abnormal hitting.im probably gonna go for a much thicker cymbal this time (even though i hate how metalic most of them sound) just to avoid the risk of another heartbreak...i advise u do the same..

Opens up easily with Colorful decay

    By Chandler-HAWmg

    from Ankeny, IA

Comments about Sabian AA Series Thin Crash:

I own the 18" and it opens up completely with just a glance or a solid hit. The decay is rich in color from dark to bright, a little darker and longer in duration than the aax studio complementing it well. Very nice sounding large bell. Great for low to mid volume playing, studio or miked in isolation shield. Never any excessive ringing or unwanted gongy overtones. I love this cymbal.

    Great Crash--None better

Comments about Sabian AA Series Thin Crash:

This cymbal is perfect. I have a 14" and its so bright, and cuts through anything, without being too loud. I've played A custom Crashes, Valults, and Paragons even, and I'm sorry, but they don't compare. I'm not sure, but I've heard the Paragons don't even last too long. I've had this for 3 years, not a single dent, crack, tear, no braking or wear whatsoever. So amazing. Fits in with any sort of music.

    The quintessential crash cymbal sound!

    By Winged Wheel Watcher

Comments about Sabian AA Series Thin Crash:

This is a great sounding crash! It has a nice blend of both dark and bright overtones, mine is actually fairly dark sounding, considering it is an AA. I use it in conjunction with a 16" AAX Studio Crash and they sound great together. This is a bit brighter and cutting than the AAX Studio, responds just a pinch quicker, and is just higher enough in pitch to make a pleasent compliment to the AAX. This most certainly cuts through, and responds and decays quick. It's bright enough to cut through, but it also has just the right amount of darkness and warmth as not to sound harsh or "brittle" as some AA's can. Great for any style of music. This is the classic crash cymbal sound! Even when non-drummers think of a crash cymbal sound, this is it!

Comments about Sabian AA Series Thin Crash:

I had played nothing but Zildian and Paiste before but I now have 5 Sabian crash cymbals plus hi-hats and a ride. Three of them are the 16 in extra thin, 17 in thin and 18 in medium thin, they sound just like a matched set!

    Sabian hits it big time

Comments about Sabian AA Series Thin Crash:

I was looking for a great shimmering, glassy, responsive, yet explosive and bright cymbal. The AA thin crash blowed me away. You touch it with the lightest stroke or hit it for an explosive content of shimmering powerful tones. Sabian makes cymbals that are actually worth the money. These things don't cost really that much and you get a beatiful sounding cymbal! This crash is very versatile for almost anything (exept really acoustic music). Versatile and shimmering. You can't beat that!
