An innovative cymbal utilizing dual lathing methods to produce a powerful, unique sound.

The Sabian AA Freq Crash features a Sabian-exclusive dual-lathing process that results in a unique, intensely cutting cymbal that delivers a quick burst of hi-frequency tone, filling the stage with huge, open sound. The cymbal offers a slower wash, a full, piercing attack and long sustain.

Most rock cymbals cut with focused high-pitched tone generated by the bell. Not so with the Sabian Freq Crash, where the cut is boosted by the exclusive dual-lathing.

Comments about Sabian AAX Freq Crash Cymbal:

This crash was sold to me watching the Sabian Mike Portnoy videos. I liked the way it sounded a lot. It does have that sound, but you need to have Mike Portnoys audio equipment to get it to shine. It is not a very loud cymbal. I play metal, and it "drowns" easy in the other cymbals as well as my drums. It is good for a crash ride situation where you want to change the sound of riding your hats or an overly loud cymbal so the drums can shine through. I would say it is a great add on, but I would not make it my first pick if I only had enough for a few cymbals. I have AAX Xplosions, Darks and Holy China set up with it and it just doesn't cut through the way I'd like it to. Maybe if it were a 20" it would be great for metal. My recommendation for this cymbal would be as an accent piece or for something lower key i.e. Jazz, Blues, Country etc. That I think it would be perfect for.
