    Sabian

    A different breed of crash.

Following the success of the HHX Evolution O-Zone Crash, Sabian has introduced the AAX O-Zone Crash. Featuring the innovative multi-hole O-Zone design created by the award-winning company, the AAX O-Zone Crash cymbal is a thin, highly responsive model available in three sizes: 16", 18", and 20". The 16" is perforated by six 1-1/2" holes, the 18" and 20" by eight 1-1/2" holes.

Removing such a substantial amount of metal to create these holes reduces the weight of the cymbal and reduces tension in the metal, thereby accelerating its response rate, for faster, fuller crashing. And while AAX crashes are known for their bright, shimmering sound, the holes in the AAX O-Zone Crash affect the movement of vibrations through the metal to introduce a degree of dark agitation to the sound. This produces a response that is a combination crash and Chinese cymbal.

This model, like the darker sounding HHX Evolution O-Zone, is so responsive as a crash and for crescendos that it can be played by stick, mallet or hand, making it ideal for drummers and percussionists playing any style of music.

Like all Sabian AAX cymbals the AAX O-Zone Crash is hand crafted from Sabian's secret process B20 "cast" bronze, a combination of 80% copper with silver and 20% tin. A proprietary hand-guided hammering process and hand lathing combine to give this and all AAX cymbals a crisp, clean and clear sound at all volumes.

    Features

    • Innovative feature: Multi-hole O-Zone design
    • Metal: B20 "cast" bronze (80% copper with silver, 20% tin)
    • Weight: thin
    • Finish: brilliant, natural

    Best crash i've heard!!

    By Tito Machuca

    from Texas

Comments about Sabian AAX O-Zone Crash Cymbal:

incredible. never had an issue with it. loud. durable. dark. perfect for any style of music. but i think it's sounds best for metal. (it adds a whole new dimension to breakdowns)
first of all, when it says thin, like any cymbal, you'd think it probably wouldn't take a beating too well. but i've had it for almost a year now, and i play pretty hard (not crazy though) and it's probably the most durable cymbal i have. and i have alot of cymbals..
Durable. Amazing sound quality. when you hear a crash, you cant really differentiate it from another crash.. but the thing is, the agititation the holes add. i didn't realize what that meant until i got it.. it's brutal. it's different to say the least. incredible sound, loud. just a great cymbal.
for the price, it's probably the best crash you could get.. (i own the 18")

    Different

    By RobRockzTheDrums

Comments about Sabian AAX O-Zone Crash Cymbal:

I bought this cymbal today, and when I got home and added it to my drum set I wasn't too pleased at first. But after playing for a while I got used to the sound and now I like it a lot. I have the 16" cymbal. This is a very different sounding cymbal from any other I've herd. I wouldn't recommend this if your looking for a normal sounding crash, but if your looking for something with a different and cool sound than this is the one for you.

Great Cymbal for a great price

    By ThunderfootLightsnare

Comments about Sabian AAX O-Zone Crash Cymbal:

My wife got the 18-inch crash for me as a Father's Day gift, and I was speachless. This cymbal has a mixture of a trashy and crashy sound. It's great!! It really adds another level of cymbal sounds to any kit. I played it at church before I added it to my set, and it sounds great. I would recommend this to anyone.

    pretty cool

Comments about Sabian AAX O-Zone Crash Cymbal:

I have had this cymbal for a few days now and i like it. I have the 16 inch version. it is very responsive. it sounds like a slightly trashy crash cymbal. The only reason that i did not give it all 10s is because I thought that the cymbal would be louder not that it is quiet. It isn't as loud as my Sabian metal-x crash. it is worth checking out. Pick one up you will not be disappointed.
