Comments about Sabian AAX Recording Crash Cymbal:

i got the 16in for christmas and i wasn't that impressed at first. but it has grown on me since. it has a buttery feel to it and is very explosive when hit hard but I've found when hit soft it can still open up. i play prog rock and i hit very hard and its louder than I'm used to but its to be expected. overall good cymbal but if you can hear it in person.

Comments about Sabian AAX Recording Crash Cymbal:

I think I have a new favorite cymbal now! I have an array of Zildjian and Sabian cymbals and I put this one in my main crash cymbal position to road test it. It had a nice warm sound and not obnoxious at all. Side by side with a Zildjian A Medium Thin Crash, I noticed this Sabian has a faster decay. It's there and gone. I like that!

Comments about Sabian AAX Recording Crash Cymbal:

The 16" AAX Recording Crash is the first AAX cymbal that I've added to my setup, which is currently a mix of Sabian HHX, AA and Paragon. I bought it as a Black Friday special from Musician's Friend after listening to online demos of the 16 and 18 (a demo of the 16 was hard to find but I found one). The sound surpasses my expectations. The cymbal has a great bell and a bright, dynamic crash that is present but not overpowering then gets out of the way quickly. Very nice! If you are are very hard hitter this might not be for you. If you sweep the cymbal as you crash it rather than hack it like an axe chopping a tree, you should be fine. It should work with any musical style. I play rock, hard rock, blues, country, R&B, funk and jazz. One more thing, this is a beautiful brilliant-finished cymbal.

Comments about Sabian AAX Recording Crash Cymbal:

It sounds really good, I wish it was a bit louder but then again it's is called recording crash it complements my cymbal set I have a 16 inch Wuhan crash the it's bright and loud and a 17 nick k custom dark crash, like that it's super thin, I play percussion so it doesn't take much force for the cymbal to respond to your hand. It also has good response when I hit it with my timbal stick.

Comments about Sabian AAX Recording Crash Cymbal:

At the current sale price it was a steal. Nice full, bright attack. I hear a little low hum but still a nice sounding cymbal. Not my favorite 16" but great to have a back up small crash along on tours. I try to keep a full set of cymbals set up with my practice kit so I don't have to unpack from a gig. This will replace a cracked crash I was getting by with.
