I own a 19 in crash, 20 in crash, 12 in splash, and 20 in ride all AAX Metal. I have 15 cymbals on my kit (all sabian) and these are by far my favorite. They are virtually indestructible. I have played all the major brands of cymbals and until i found the AAX metal i would break them as fast as i bought them. For metal they are perfect, they are loud, they sound pretty good considering how thick they are, but most importantly if you spend the money you know you are buying a cymbal that is going to last. So do yourself a favor if you frequently crack cymbals, spend the extra money and buy AAX metal.

I respect Sabian as a quality cymbal crafting company. I do not think the AAX metal crash is one of their best cymbals, but it is still well crafted. The cymbal is not really good for regular crash use, but does do well for extreme accents and things like that. Don't buy this cymbal expecting to make it your main crash, it is too overpowering and heavy for constant hitting. Good for heavy rock I suppose, but still really to overbearing for constant use.

Comments about Sabian AAX Series Metal Crash Cymbal:
I use the 20" as a wash ride. To be honest, i think sabin named this cymbal wrong. It shoud be named a crash/ride. For the 20" anyway. The thickness around the bell provides great articulation for grooves. It has a very powerful bell. And its great for individual crashes and was riding. I highly recommend it for heavy styles of music.

This cymbal is extremely great. It has just the sustain and a great crispy sound to go along with it. This cymbals give off the best creshendos.
Comments about Sabian AAX Series Metal Crash Cymbal:
This is a wonderful sounding cymbal. It is great for all types of music, has a wonderful tone. It's loud enough to be heard even over death metal. All in all, just a great cymbal.
Comments about Sabian AAX Series Metal Crash Cymbal:
I think that this cymbal has the greatest sound possible with a cymbal, and it's very tough. I highly recommend it.
Comments about Sabian AAX Series Metal Crash Cymbal:
I bought the Sabian AAX Series 18" Metal Crash about 8 months ago. I usually break thru crashes about once every 6 months. This crash has held up to lots of beating and dropping. One of my guitarists stepped on it and it didn't even break. It's heavy, but has great sound!
Comments about Sabian AAX Series Metal Crash Cymbal:
The cymbal is strong, nice looking, and a top of the line cymbal. I know my cymbals, and i have had the 16 in for about a month now, and it's worth it. I'm savin up for the 18 in. At first the sound was a bit weird, but now i'm in love. The sound is so full and complete is unbelievable. Well worth the money.
Comments about Sabian AAX Series Metal Crash Cymbal:
I have had this cymbal in a 16" and 18" for about 3 months, and I have not found them beneficial to me in any other way than something to hit with a stick. I decided to purchase these cymbals after hearing how sweet and powerful they sounded from the projections of Silverchair; much to my dismay, they sound like "pot" metal. I do not like the way they sound in any fashion, but I do look better with a quality brand and model cymbal.
