Powerful and reponsive!

The explosive response of the thin APX Crash Cymbal is dense with high-end brightness and a razor-sharp projection that cuts with a tonally cool, crisp attack.

APX is the new professional cymbal series from award-winning sound innovators: Sabian. The sheer attack of APX cuts through any music. To create this intensity, Sabian introduced new production processes that also result in a unique appearance for these cymbals. Featuring a 'High-Decibel' design the APX crash cymbal sounds super-bright, tonally tight, focused, and aggressive beyond belief to rip through rock-heavy grooves and blistering power chords like a laser through darkness. With APX, nothing gets in your way.

APX crash cymbals are ideal for cutting through the raging guitars, heavy riffing and high-powered output of hard rock and heavy metal bands. Top drummers already playing APX include Ray Luzier (Korn), Neil Sanderson (Three Days Grace), George Kollias (Nile), John Kelly (Type-O Negative), and Rich Beddoe (Finger Eleven).

Comments about Sabian APX Crash Cymbal:

This was a great deal, but lacks in sound. The XS has a better sound. This was bought for a gig, but it's more of a splash type sound, not very loud and it's more for a student than someone who performs out.

Comments about Sabian APX Crash Cymbal:

The 14'' APX crash sounds better than my 14'' Paiste Full Crash. I did not expect this being the APX is B8. I am really not a snob as I have Zildjian Impulse, Meinal Raker and Paiste Rude cymbals which are all B8. Sabian sure made a great cutting full sounding glassy cymbal that has a multitude of uses with their B8 APX cymbals. Before they disappear my new purchase is the 20'' Solid APX which I will review once it arrives. The price was right on both the 20'' and 14'' APX pies. I wish I had tried them sooner as they are being DC'd and I have not saved enough to get the Hi-Hats. Each person has an opinion on how cymbals sound but I believe the 14'' APX is by far my favourite out of all the 14'' cymbals I own. The price I purchased the 14'' APX at was a world away compaired to who knows what for a 14'' Paiste Signature. My band had a blind test and all agreed the Sabian beat the Paiste in every aspect. Better get some while they are at the best prices for a professional cymbal! Thank you MF!

Comments about Sabian APX Crash Cymbal:

These are awesome cymbals for their price. I play in a melodic death metal band called Brothel and it works awesomely for us. As a drummer i pride myself in being heard rather than being drowned out by everyone else, and this cymbal does the trick. I have it in combination with the apx solid and an apx 22 inch ride - the trifecta! They have great cut and projection. Very durable too. Im a heavy heavy hitter. I recomend this to any metal drummer who wants to be heard

    Great, Cheap Cymbal

Comments about Sabian APX Crash Cymbal:

I bought the 16" about 2 months ago (When it was $170, not $110), and I honestly wasn't sure at first. I bought a 14" Paiste PST 5, but hated it, and returned it and got this. Much, much, much better choice. So my first impression was that it was very bright. But that's good, considering most of my cymbals were on the darker side. This was my first Sabian product, and was also my first "real" cymbal. (Not being a crappy Zildjian Planet Z, ZXT, or ZBT) But bottom line, its a great cymbal. Just try it before you buy it, because you may not like the sound.
