I play these cymbals every Sunday in a church praise band, but my band jams in the church and I use that set for that too. From playing it in 2 different generas, contemporary christian to hard rock and punk rock. The 13 high hats have a very sharp sound when closed, but many drummers open the hats during a rythym as a cresendo during a song and when they are opened like that, they sound horrible, they have a quick fade and the normally satisfiying bright report of the hats when opened now sounds horrible when hit in an eight note rythym. The 14 crash on the other hand has a bright respone, and since its so thin, you can literally drive through it in the attack. and the bronze of the cymbal means it will never break. I have pretty much beat the crap out of this cymbal and it hasnt ed.The crash ride should be a crash or a ride, NOT BOTH, as a crash, this cymbal sounds very loud and dark, not at all like a ride. But if you put dampeners on the stand and squeeze the cymbal, you get an elongated ride tone. Overall, evaluate what music you play, my advice is to save the extra and get the nicer Zildjans

well these were my first cymbals, gotta love the price tag on them.other than that, i can't stand the dull sound. they sound really cheap compared to better cymbals out there that aren't really unaffordable. i upgraded to AAX but i kept these cymbals on my set because it makes my kit look bigger lol. i only use the crash ride, it has a nice sound.if you don't care about gettin a crisper sound and you just want to get some cymbals for your kit, get these. if you are trying add some and you don't have that much money, well, wait and save your money and get a better series than the B8. i don't even like the B8 pro, they sound cheap too.

    Good For Beginners

    By xXdrums4lifeXx

    from Undisclosed

I find that when I was just a beginner I didn't care how good my cymbals were, and B8 is like the standard for beginner cymbals i guess. they are the perfect cymbals for beginners, but as i improved my playing i find that thin crashes don't really respond well for what i'm playing, and the 14" is very ringy.

    Great Quality for Price

    By Phatty

I just recently purchased this Sabien pack and I couldn't be more pleased. They have an amazing finish, their strongly formed, and can really take a beating. The 13'' hats sound absolutely amazing both open and closed. The clean and crisp sound of them closed is incredible. The 18'' crash/ride has a clean well rounded sound for riding or crashing. It carries a long tune and is very loud. The 14'' splash only finishes complimenting the pack with it's sharp tuned sound. I never used a splash so much until I feel in love with this one's sound! All in all, this is an incredible package at an incredible price. I'd recommend it to beginners or advanced players. You will surely not be disappointed!

    Best Beginner Set Ever!

    By Jarrod

I have owned these and the ZBTs, but these just blow the ZBTs away. These have such a good sound and really good quality so they can take a beating.

    Excellent Value

    By Mr. Integrity

I purchased this cymbal pack seven months ago, and Sabian has thoroughly impressed me. I play pretty much any style I can and the 14" thin crash can follow through with a nice cutting sound when playing heavier music, and can be used as a light accent in softer music. I had read through quite a few other reviews on here before purchasing this pack, and a few recommended to put something like duct tape on the bottom of the crash/ride. Do so. When I first got this set, the crash/ride had a lot of ring to it, and had trouble quieting down on its own. After just a few strips of tape, it became a decent ride, and with more precise hits, a very loud crash. The hi-hats are certainly not the best cymbals on the market, but for the price you're paying for everything, it's hard to complain. I would certainly say that this is the best cymbal pack in its price range for beginners and those who have little to spend but need to upgrade.Buy these cymbals.

Great cymbals for a great price

I've owned these cymbals for 8 years now. My crash is totally demolished from when I was a hard hitter in my beginner days, but now it's an effects crash. My Ride has a small crack and my hi hats are perfect. all sound great for the price. Great deal.

    These are great cymbals

    By wearegonnatakeacc's

    from Gaithersburg, MD

I'm in a band and I had really crappy cymbals. Every time we played I would be the quitest one, instead of the loudest cuz of the crap cymbals. One of my buds said that I should get the B8's cuz their not that expensive. I love 'em! The hi-hats sound great, but when they're open a bit sloppy, the crash has a good spash of sound but with it beening thin I'm afraid to break it. The ride rings a little long but it's really good sounding!

    awesome for the money

    By nanceman

    from cairns

You will not find better cymbals for the money. The hats have just the right amount of chick when closed and wash out nicely when open slightly. The thin crashes sound great with cutting accents that fade quickly if you want more sustain get the medium crashes. The ride can become noisy when playing the bow of the cymbal but this is easily fixed with a couple of pieces of gaffa tape on the underside of the cymbal. Sure there are better cymbals out there if you've got the money but these are the greatest value going around.

Great for beginning and intermediate drummers

    By Blake Smith

    from Cairo, GA

I bought the Sabian B8 pack a few years ago when I first started playing drums. It has served me well. They sound pretty good and hold up from some hard jam sessions. They are excellent for beginning drummers and just as good for those that have been playing a couple years. I plan to upgrade to Sabian AAX and AAXplosion cymbals, but this pack sold me on Sabians.

    no

    By Austin FYMG

    from Redwater Tx

these were my first cymbols to play with. They have absolutly no volume. They no atack, but they look kinda shiny. If you have no money and are in a low profile band that does not require a pro sound or recording, then get them. Otherwise save up for something different.
