Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Chinese Brilliant:

Great cymbal! I'm buying this to replace the one that I've had for nearly 15 years (it finally cracked after years of pounding on it).
Great dark sound. I typically prefer the AAX or AA lines, but for FX cymbals I usually turn to the B8Pros because of their durability and distinctive, harsh sounds. Also, since FX cymbals (especially the smaller ones) tend not to carry and cut through the full size crashes, the B8 alloys help compensate to deliver enough volume, especially in live circumstances.

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Chinese Brilliant:

I bought the club mix a while ago(AAX/Xs20) and I was looking to add an effects cymbal. I wanted to replace the old Lp 22" I was using with a smaller one. I bought the 18" B8pro and what a difference. It is LOUD and trashy. The only thing is the decay is a little more lengthy than what I expected, but other than that it is a good sounding cymbal that doesn't disappoint.

I've had this 16 inch china cymbal for about two years and its just now to the point where it's wearing out with its tone. I've beat this cymbal like crazy and its held up for many gigs and practices. Its a very durable cymbal. The sound is strong and trashy just like a china should be. It's no top of the line, but its got a good sound.

the b8 pro chinese is a great-sounding cymbal. i bought the 14", and it has great attack. however, i will warn you: this is made to be used as only a crash. i tried to use it as a ride for the opening of iron maiden's "hallowed be thy name," and it dented fairly easily. i only played 2 or 3 times, and it already had dents in it. otherwise, this is a cymbal you don't want to miss out on.

Comments about Sabian B8 Pro Chinese Brilliant:

Ok, so I thought because of the good luck I've had with B8's in the past, that this would be no exception. Well, it's got a good attack to it and very trashy. But I agree with the other reviewer, it's too high pitched and the sustain lasts FOREVER. Now, some people might want this in a china, if so, get this. Personally, I was looking for a china with bright attack and quick decay, wow, I didn't realize how hard that would be to find. I use an 18" xs20 china that I love, but the B8 doesn't compliment it very well. After some further research, I found an AAX mini chinese 14" that is perfect, exactly what I want, and I found it used for only $15 than the B8.

I won't blame Sabian for this, b/c some people want the sound of this china, and it's a good price. It just wasn't right for me. I recommend listening to some samples of it online or going to your local music shop and hitting it several times before buying. Keep in mind how it will mix with the rest of your kit.

My only problem with this cymbal is that it is much too high pitched.
With it being only a B8 I would have expected a very poor china, and that is not the case. If you get this I would recommend getting the 18 inch one. I may move this to where I want to put a mini china at when I because of how high pitched it is.
