Like mentioned above, good for a quick, and bright attack. It's there then it is gone. Good price, and May recomend it for guys wanting a new piece for a stack, or a start a new stack.
Now, starting out, this is a good cymbal for a side crash (off to the side, not hit often), I used to use for a main crash, but realized it's not meant for that. This cymbal has a higher frequnecy when hit, and it has a pingy contact point. The Broze Alloy solution (92% Copper, 8% Tin), gives this cymbal a short sustain, it's basically good for being their, and then leaving for the other guys to come in after.

Also, sometimes, I use this cymbal for making a stack, and is an ok bottom cymbal.
Now, the over-all quality is decent, not the best. I have had for over a year or so now, and I have only noticed a small change in the tone, which is ok (to me). Also, the cymbal sometimes has ugly ocer tones, then nice ones, strange.
Good price for what they are asking for. Great price for this cymbal

I had a little bit of birthday money saved up a while back and bought the B8 medium crash as a secondary crash. This crash is just too bright. I like bright crisp sounds, but it sounds almost like it's out of tune with the overtones. It's held up alright and its cheap, but i wish i had saved for another Sabian X20, which is what i'm using for my primary crash and which sounds a lot better. Recorded, it almost sounds like you're running it through a wah pedal stuck in the middle, just a really weird sound to it. And i know its not just my recording techniques, cause all of my other cymbals sound fine. Just save up and get the X20, you wont be sorry.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Medium Crash Cymbal:

This cymbal is the worst-sounding cymbal I have heard. It does not even sound like a cymbal!, it just sounds nasty in the room This cymbal does not have any warmth, defined pitch or sound. The sound you get from this cymbal is that of a round piece of sheet metal. My advise: get a pro sonic

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Medium Crash Cymbal:

I play Sabians cause they are the best looking cymbals out there I play B8 cause they sound good some say its bad but I have been playing for 15 yrs and going 16 is not all that bad. I love Sabians they are better than Zildjians combine. If you like the B8 and spend less for what they are worth I recommend it.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Medium Crash Cymbal:

i owned both the 16" and 18". the 18" sounded good, although it had to much overtone. the 16" was just horrible. it didnt sounds like a crash at all, it was like hitting cooking pots. for beginners the 18" is great, but dont get the 16"

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Medium Crash Cymbal:

this is a great cymbal for overall value. i have an mix of expensive zildjian and sabian cymbals and this is my favorite!! its a great crash and is great to hammer on as a chorus ride. this cymbal is a great investment for beginner and pro alike.

Good fast crash

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Medium Crash Cymbal:

I got this cymbal included in my starter set (which I hated and it sounded like garbage) and it's good as a crash that you would use for some type of explosion crash, not as a main crash. It has more of a high pitched, kind of sharp sound. If you're looking for a crash, get a zildjian zht crash/ride because it has a lower tone to it and sounds a lot better. And the ride on it isn't too bad either. Or just save up to get some AA's or AAX's for the holidays. You shouldn't really waste your money on this.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Medium Crash Cymbal:

I have had this cymbal for about 8 months, it was nice and cheap to buy and I didn't know much about sound of cymbals, but now I know better, its a good price but sounds pretty bad to me and also cracked on me(huge crack) now it sounds like a china from the crack.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Medium Crash Cymbal:

I originally bought the cheap meinl 16" crash and hated it, so i spent the extra 30 bucks for this one. It's a very good cymbal, especially for the price. It's not overly bright, or very complex, but that's because it's inexpensive. It's a pretty fast crash, but it is durable. I play fast and hard, and this blends in nicely. When you hit it, you can tell it's not an expensive cymbal, but not nearly to the point of annoyance. It has a simple and versitile sound (though like most other sabians, it is on the brighter side). If you're on a budget or want a nice practice cymbal that won't break the bank or make you cringe when you hit it, this is the cymbal (the whole B8 line, in fact). Oh, and the finish is nice and durable.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Medium Crash Cymbal:

I've waited a long time to get a great crash like this one. When i went to get it my dad told me not to be surprised if it sounded really cheesy. When we got there and heard it even my dad was blown away. Sabian B8's are definitely my favorite crashes and chinas.

Great cymbal, I recommend it for beginners, because it is good enough for the pros, but it is not expensive.

Get a zbt

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Medium Crash Cymbal:

My drummer has a 16" b8 medium crash and it seriously annoys me when he hits it, we had a zbt before this one and in my opinion it sounded much better. the 10" b8 splash, however, sounds good but keyholed easily and badly. overall b8 cymbals sound like hitting sheet metal, get a b8 pro, zbt, or zxt. Do it. Do it.
