I owned this ride on my last set and the worst mistake I've ever made was selling it. It's insanely durable, well crafted and sounds professional. When I used it, I played punk and hardcore metal on it, with a little blues and country/rock thrown in. No matter what genre you're playing, this cymbal can keep up, guaranteed. The bell is LOUD, and makes any bell bought on its own seem like a huge waste of money. The wash on this thing when you hit the rim is simply overpowering. The sustain when using it simply as a ride in softer or more rhythmic situations gives your whole set a professional, quality feel and sound with a crystal clear ring. BUY IT if you need a ride. i've played Zildjians and Meinls, but this Sabian just outshines either brand.

I'm somewhat new to drums but I can tell you this cymbal isn't something you want to buy. The pitch is low and it has to much sustain. I like bright pingy rides. Also, when it gets dirty, it sounds even worse. Keep your felts loose on the bell and maybe put a moon gel on the back edge to make it sound a little better. Look for a used ride before you buy this.

    ...epic
first ride cymbal i ever got and still is my fav.it has a low dark sound- the lowest of any of my cymbals and many times when i am playing i have to switch to my ride because it fits all kinds of generas- jazz, rock, even latin and so i got the b8 crash witch is just as good. AWESOME CYMBAL!
    STILL AWESOME
if it was just a little cheaper...

this cymbal has a good bell, when i first played it it seemed silly to by a separate bell. i dont know anything about this cymbal thats bad about it. 1 of the best parts about it is that its a very reasonable price. good job sabian!

    Good Price Good Cymbal

This ride is a good cymbal. I would recomend it for groove drummers, because when your rocking out it makes some weird demented sound between a china and a crash. Overall its good.

    good find

    By keith clevenger

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Ride Cymbal:

I bought a Sabian B8 used and it's a great addition to my set. It's not quite as rich as the Zildian K ride I play but I think it is more versatile because it sounds great when you crash it. I was pleasantly suprised. It is sensitive and bright enough to accents while riding. On my B8 the bell is a little weak, though. Good Value.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Ride Cymbal:

I got this ride used, so I naturally wasn't expecting much out of it. But once i used it, I was blown away. Sounds great hitting it like a crash, It sounds amazing as a ride, plus the bell sounds good. Defiantly worth it.

    Great!

    By Paitsch

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Ride Cymbal:

I needed something durable and inexpensive, and this fit both categories. It sounds very clean and has a clunky bell. It is also crashable/washable. I would recommend this to anyone.

    Very nice ride

    By Luke-IPSxO

    from Illinois

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Ride Cymbal:

This ride has exceeded my expectations multiple times. I have gotten complements about it at gigs even. Don't listen to the people completely bashing this cymbal, it may be cheap but it still sounds very nice. If your unsure then go to a store and test it out I'm sure you'll like it. This is the last beginner cymbal of mine I'm going to upgrade because it is one of the best beginner cymbals around.
