I owned this ride on my last set and the worst mistake I've ever made was selling it. It's insanely durable, well crafted and sounds professional. When I used it, I played punk and hardcore metal on it, with a little blues and country/rock thrown in. No matter what genre you're playing, this cymbal can keep up, guaranteed. The bell is LOUD, and makes any bell bought on its own seem like a huge waste of money. The wash on this thing when you hit the rim is simply overpowering. The sustain when using it simply as a ride in softer or more rhythmic situations gives your whole set a professional, quality feel and sound with a crystal clear ring. BUY IT if you need a ride. i've played Zildjians and Meinls, but this Sabian just outshines either brand.

These B8 cymbal sound horrible. Super ugly overtones and very low quality. They are very clangy. Pretty much all Sabian is doing is cutting out pieces of low quality B8, and they don't do any real hammering. It's pretty much just for the looks on these cymbals. I suggest that you save up and get at least XS20 or AA cymbals. They are made out of B20 bronze that is much more musical and will sound great.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Ride Cymbal:

I'm somewhat new to drums but I can tell you this cymbal isn't something you want to buy. The pitch is low and it has to much sustain. I like bright pingy rides. Also, when it gets dirty, it sounds even worse. Keep your felts loose on the bell and maybe put a moon gel on the back edge to make it sound a little better. Look for a used ride before you buy this.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Ride Cymbal:

I got this ride used, so I naturally wasn't expecting much out of it. But once i used it, I was blown away. Sounds great hitting it like a crash, It sounds amazing as a ride, plus the bell sounds good. Defiantly worth it.

      Only ride I've ever loved

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Ride Cymbal:

I've been in an 11 year marriage with this lovely little ride, and I don't see us breaking up any time soon. I actually think it's sound has improved over the years sweat, beer, and beatings.

If you are looking for a tight, dead, ping ride, this is not your cymbal. But if you are looking for a dark, sturdy, workhorse that fits in almost any genre, you've found your best friend.

      Not bad

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Ride Cymbal:

Ive had it for 2 years and the only problem is that it rings but that isnt that big of a deal. It is a good choice but if you have the money, spend a little bit more on something else.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Ride Cymbal:

I own a 20" B8 ride. It is a great ride with good sticking, nice decay and wash. The bell is cutting and bright but a little metallic sounding. After 6 years it has gotten better.

      Works well, isn't too bad

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Ride Cymbal:

It sounds the best with plastic-headed drum sticks, rather than wooden heads, because after a little while of playing with the same wooden head drum stick, it begins to absorb the sound a little, like it's getting soft or something. It is very long lasting and it is a recommended cymbal.

      Worth it...

      By Miss Clandestine

      from Seattle, Washington

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Ride Cymbal:

I bought this about a year ago and it has served me well. The sound that comes out of it is good and it's quite diverse: I sometimes use it when I need a slow decaying crash, and it does the job well. Great for those on a budget!
