I use the Sabian B818" as a ride. I tried several cymbals at a music store I went to and most had annoying undertone build up. The Sabian B8 18" crash had a nice ping sound that I was looking for in a ride. Honestly, I listened to cymbals costing much more. Didn't like them. I also have a Paiste PST 16" crash. Again not a lot of annoying undertones. Both cymbals sustain on about the same tone respectively when you stop striking them. I'm not a cymbal connoisseur but I know what I like as far as sound goes and both these cymbals have it.

I bought this cymbal thinking it would be pretty durable, and have an alright sound. I have the 20". The sound was a little better than I expected. Really loud and powerful. The only thing that dissapointed me was the quality. Well I guess you get what you pay for. I had this for about a month and a half before it cracked. It cracked after my second show using it. But because I use it as my main cymbal, I wouldn't be surprised. I'm a pretty heavy hitter during shows. If you like to thrash on your cymbals, I wouldn't recommend buying this cymbal.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Rock Crash Cymbal:

This cymbal is amazing. Looks amazing, sounds amazing. You cannot go wrong with it. I love it!!
This is THE BEST cymbal you could buy. It looks good, it sounds good, and it maybe smells good. I haven't tested that out yet. Any way, you Cannot go wrong with the SABIAN B8 16'' rock crash.
This cymbal is good for heavy hitters (like me). Before I bought this one, I had a planet z crash. It cracked. Bad. So I replaced with the SABIAN B8 rock crash, and there is no comparison at all. This cymbal blows any other out of the water.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Rock Crash Cymbal:

I got the 18" Rock Crash and my only complaint is that it is higher pitched than what I thought it would be. It is awesome. It works well as a ride and crash. I reccomend this cymbal to every one. It is a GREAT CYMBAL!!!

ehhh its alright...

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Rock Crash Cymbal:

i got the 18 on sale because it was used, it has a slight nick it it but i dont mind. the sound... i think sabian made these too thick cause you have to hit is super hard wit the fat end of your stick to get the response of a crash with it. its kinda like trying to crash a ride cymbal, it just doesnt want to. there is alot of overtones with it too,and doesnt project too much, isay go for the b8 thin crashes, they are much better, and acually crash! i think it would work better as a ride

High quality Sabian cymbals, are a great addition to any kit, no matter what your level. I tend to be a hard hitter, so this rock crash is just right for me, and goes well with my other Sabians.

I am very pleased with this cymbal. I have the 16 inch one and I use it as one of my 2 main crashes. The other is an 18 inch from a different Sabian B8 series. This is a great cymbal for LIVE and studio applications.

          Decent

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Rock Crash Cymbal:

This is a good sounding cymbal. I had it for a couple months and then it started to crack, and after I kept playin on it for a while it cracked really bad; however, I was playing extremely hard and i had it tightened to the stand pretty tight. At the time I was playing 2-3 shows a week in a punk band so that may have had something to do with it. It cuts through well and sounds decent. Its a good cymbal if you don't play too hard, but if you are going to be playing hard it may crack.

          Love the 16 inch

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Rock Crash Cymbal:

I had a Sabian B8 16 inch rock crash, and recently, due to agressive play, and my friend dropping it, it cracked. I was so disheartened because I was in love with the cymbal. It has such a great sound, especially for the price. I made the mistake of buying a Sabian B8 16 inch medium crash. That was a mistake, the cymbal sounds like a toy, or something really cheap. When I get enough money, I will buy the 16 inch and 18 inch rock crashes to get my set back in order. Trust the rock crash!

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Rock Crash Cymbal:

The 16" Rock Crash is nice. Not a very good "Rock" sound, sounds more like a medium crash but I am totally satisfied with it. Personally I am happy that is doesn't have that "rock" sound. It perfect the way it is. The wash and decay are the best features.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Rock Crash Cymbal:

Very bright and penetrating. Straightforward without complex overtones/undertones. Suitable primarily for heavier styles of music. It stands up to the abuse and will blend well--cutting through the loudest, most screaching guitars.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Rock Crash Cymbal:

Well I'm a budget drummer I am always looking for good Long Lasting products. I have a Tama Superstar SK which I bought a Zildjin ZBT cymbal pack for and I love it, but after about a year and a half the crash ride broke so I began looking for a new cymbal when I found this. I didnt want to break it so thats why I went for the rock cymbal this time and it is very think and sterdy so it should last a long time. But what I hate about it is you hasve to hit it so hard to get a loud sound out of it. Overall it sounds good when you smack the crap out of it, and it looks very nice. I think I will stick with Zildjan but i would say this is a good cymbal esecailly is you dont have 100's of dollars to throw around every other month.

I got a 16inch one about four years ago and it rocks! Its bright and cuts through the music. I finally broke it in two places. This is a good cymbal for any beginner and intermediate on a budget. I am going to get an 18inch one this time.

I own both the 16 and 18" rock crash and they are absolutely awesome, the sound cuts through all, but doesn't drown anything out, amazing sound and is really good for the money. KillerKool, the reason your friends cymbals sound bad is because they're cracked, and they ARE durable, I've played heavy metal for 6 years with those two same cymbals and they're not cracked.
