This 12" B8 Splash was exactly what I wanted. It provides the perfect transition from my 8" Splash to my 14" Thin Crash - all Sabian B8 series. It's too trashy to be a proper Crash, and too big to be a traditional Splash. It has that quick cutting quality, and then it's gone. Say what you want about the B8 series, but I like the thin stuff for that very reason. If you don't hit like you're trying to hammer it into a new shape, you won't.

It's kinda hard to describe the sound of the 8in I have had, it's more of a "chhh" sound. Don't expect any kind of refined tones, considering this is Sabian's cheapest option. Regardless of the price, I've had this for 5 years and it hasn't broken yet. Not really impressive for a tiny splash, but still a great beginner cymbal. Removing the logos also made a slight increase in sound.

This is the best splash ever! It is short and focused like a splash should be. And you can't beat the price. I wouldn't use any other splash!!!

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Splash Cymbal:

overall, a great little cymbal, and a terrific addition to my set. will withstand a lot, besides slight denting. you can buy this cymbal without regrets.
i was very surprised to take this cymbal out of the bag. i was skeptic as well, because usually people give the B8 sabian cymbals a bad rep. i own the 8 inch. this little cymbal cuts through evey other cymbal in my set. i also did some expirimenting with this cymbal. i turned it upside down on my 16 inch crash, and it sounds extremely brighter, and louder. it sounds like an 8 inch AA chinese. although the downside to this is that it dents very easily. but all in all a great splash for the price.
this cymbal tends to get dents, but your going to get that with most small/thin cymbals. its only about 45 bucks, not going to complain.
this, is well worth the price it is. you absolutly get what you pay for. great value for a b8 series

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Splash Cymbal:

Wow...I bought this splash (8") at a local shop thinking hey its cheep and ive been wanting a splash for my Rolland E-Kit. first off if you've join the E-kit revolution this splash is amazing the volume it puts out is PERFECT in every sense of the word. second ive read reviews on other splashes and some say bla bla bla "volume" this "too quite" that and personally i think they need to chill a bit splashes arnt supposed to be screaming loud if you know how to control your volume by not smashing a cymbal as hard as your hand and gravity can handle you will deffinatly hear it. overall this splash is a thing of beauty and is worth picking up.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Splash Cymbal:

I originally bought the 12 inch as a transition between a splash and a crash. It did not dissapoint. So I bought the 10 inch as a straight ahead splash. Do these sound as sterling as the top of the lines? No, but they do the job at far less cost. Until I get an endorsement from Sabian, I'm happy with these.

If you are shopping for a splash that splashes, here it is. Sounds like a splash should. Nice and thin, fast decay, and piercing sound. Got the 10 inch, I'm stoked!
