This cymbal is way beyond any cymbal in this price range. The crash has quick reaction with a cutting sound that dies just as a thin crash should. I have had this crash for 7 years and I just felt I should review it before I upgraded and sold this. I have had the 14" paired with a 14" Zildjian ZBT Rock Crash. If you're on a budget, these two crashes sound incredible together. I feel I've gotten my use out of this and will be upgrading to a higher quality thin crash. This is a really incredible cymbal for the cost and even if you're considering buying it, you definately should.

For my birthday, I had gotten a Ludwig CS Custom Accent Drumset from my aunt. And my cousin bought me the whole set of B8's. I am talking about a splash, a mini china, 2 crashes, hihats and a ride. I loved thse cymbals so much. But the 16" inch crash was my problem. It sounded more like a hihat cymbal or as guitar in disortion. Now it is my last cymbal. My original set up was: The 16" inch crash, the splash, the 18" inch crash, my ride, then china. Now since the 16" inch sounds so bad it is now 18" crash, ride, china , then the splash piggybacked onto the 16" crash. The 14" and 16" sound so different. the 14" sounds like a zildjian while the 16" inch sounds like a hihat. Well im warning you. They last long but sound bad.

Great cymbal. Sabian has always manufactured superior products. I grew up in the Zyldian age, when nothing but Z's were used. never liked Zyldians, sounded great for a year but then faded in sound and look. Go Sabian

Since I'm low on cash, this cymbal is a great buy for the price. It works well with my other crashes, which are Sabian xs20's. It's a great addition to any kit.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Thin Crash Cymbal:

This is a great cymbal for a beginner or an experienced drummer on a budget. The 18" has a very trashy sound that to me sounds awesome, this cymbal is not the best for playing live though because it is VERY loud. The 16" is good but it kinda has a pot-like sound to me, It may be cool to someone else but it's not my style. Unfortunately the 18" cracked but I bought these used and I played it hard for over a year so it basically went through the same cycle every cymbal will go through eventually. Overall I would recommend the 18" because it's the best out of the group. Although these aren't very good live cymbals they are one of the best deals around for practice cymbals.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Thin Crash Cymbal:

I used this in a gig for an extra crash (I borrowed it from a friend) and it seems to do all right. I currently use mostly Avedis Zildjian, and while these certainly aren't complex sounding at all, cut through a lot better than the others. It has such a sharp sound. Personaly I would save my money for something a litter bit better. Zildjian ZHT are the best sheet cymbals for the price in my opinion (outside of Paiste's high end stuff) and Sabian XS20 is flat out excellent. Anyway, this was great, I actually even rided it a couple of times. Very loud, it was great for those points when you need to cut through more than the ride. My biggest complaint is that if you hit it hard, as it decays it gives off this super high pitched, almost feedback-like sound; which was very audible to the rest of the band, even though the loud music was still playing. When further away, it disappears, though. All in all it was pretty good. If you put a little tape on both sides of the edge of the cymbal, I've heard that that helps tone it down a bit. Since it's not mine, I haven't done that, though; so I cant say for sure.
You hit it and it cuts through the mix. It does what it is supposed to do.
It's a B8 sheet bronze cymbal. I don't know, It's very loud and cuts through VERY well. But, if you are a hard hitter at all, it will probably crack pretty fast.
For a budget cymbal pack, you can get the most bang for your buck with the B8 packages. I personally prefer Zildjian ZBT, because I am racist when it comes to cymbals:)

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Thin Crash Cymbal:

ok first off this cymbal should only be used for beginners playing by themselves in a basement. its very loud, its very sharp, and to much cutting edge, personally i hate sabian. im a zildjian guy, but i had a 16" and an 18" of this a few years back. compared to my zildjian k custom hybrid 17" crash its decay took like 13 seconds in a quiet room, this cymbals decay was something like 31 seconds. if you have a band DO NOT BUY!!!! its way to loud and its just very annoying.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Thin Crash Cymbal:

I picked it over most cymbals in guitar center and didnt even know the price, or anything about the b8 series it sounded the brightest and most cutting there.
This cymbal is amazing! its loud, and bright. its fairly cutting and can be quiet if needed.
The quality is lower because this cymbal tarnishes easily. its very durable but I dont hit hard.
this cymbal is a must have for people on a small budget.
