Fantastic, Cutting Sound.

Comments about Sabian HHX Evolution Series O-Zone Cymbal:

This crash is fantastic. I had tried out the AAX as well as the APX o-zone crashes and both were great but this is just a different league. I picked it up today and I couldn't be more satisfied. The response is quick and the decay is rapid which is what I was looking for. It has extremely sharp attack and spacey accents when played on a cycle. It sounds great at any angle and cuts through any mix cleanly and loudly, but not in a manner that's overbearing. Fantastic all around crash to have in your vault.

Trash Is In

Comments about Sabian HHX Evolution Series O-Zone Cymbal:

I'm a seventies rock drummer, and miss the creativity of sounds in cymbals from that time. Hello 16" O-Zone, and welcome to my kit. After I go nuts on a roll (often sounds like I'm throwing my drums down a flight of stairs) it's the O-Zone trashy crash that rises out of the ruins. It SOUNDS AWESOME! Been waiting for this cymbal a long, long time.

Comments about Sabian HHX Evolution Series O-Zone Cymbal:

I love the HHX Evolution Series, in general. I play or have played an average of 2 - 4 shows per week. The 17" and 18" standard crash that I have each respectively break after about a year. The 14" china has seen about the same track record; maybe a tad longer. The splash and ride have never cracked in the 4 years I've had them. Hopefully, this O-Zone will last a couple years.

I first heard this cymbal when a friend played a show. Then I noticed a it was different, kind of trashy but good. I got one for my self and now I use it frequently while playing.

          Cool cymbal

Comments about Sabian HHX Evolution Series O-Zone Cymbal:

I own both the 16", and the 18" o-zone. A trashy crash, although words don't really describe the sound (or the look). I prefer the smaller 16" cymbal. Modern Drummer shows a picture of Dave Weckl with his newest batch of cymbals, which include an o-zone ride cymbal. As of 1/18/06, this is not on sale yet. Interesting.

Comments about Sabian HHX Evolution Series O-Zone Cymbal:

I bought this cymbal in a 16" and it is really nice. It has a really nice trashy sound when you hit it that sustains for a long time! Not to mention the look! It has the most unique and incredible look. I've only been getting very positive comments on this thing! So overall, if your looking for a nice trashy sound that is more like the smoothiest china sound that is lOUD and has a very long sustain, get this!

Awesome cymbal like nothing else I've heard. Very trashy gong-like. Fairly loud, low and deep with medium decay. Doesn't sound at all like a China or crash to me. Love it.

Comments about Sabian HHX Evolution Series O-Zone Cymbal:

Buying cymbals is more of a taste thing than its about whats better etc, put some money in it and you will get things that sound good no matter what brand. I bought mine because the store had a special Sabian discount day 20% off. I wanted something that was a bit different so I went head on for the O-Zone crashes, the AAX ones was sold out and they only had HHX in 16, the only size I wanted. The sound was something I had to get used to, it sounded more like a china at first but after I someow got used to it I really started to like the dark thrashy sounds, its like a "thang" sound but in a very musical way and nice overtones that fade out very smooth, this is the kind of cymbal that spice up any cymbal setups. If you tap it lightly it will give this jazzy kind of sound and if you crash it you will get this ragged yet smooth (confusing?) and warm "thannng" sound. I really like to pair this up with an AAX crash and use the thrashiness against the bright sounds.Interesting and well crafted.

Comments about Sabian HHX Evolution Series O-Zone Cymbal:

Let's just put it this way: more refined than a china, but more aggressive and raw (as well as quite a bit louder) than a regular crash. If you're not a big fan of the gnarly, trashy sound of normal China cymbals, but you want to add a little zest to your array, then I would highly, highly recommend this cymbal. A little pricey, but you know what they say: you get what you pay for.

I've played this cymbal before. Everytime you hit it it covers the music very nicely, and if you hit it with the tip of your fingers it gives an awesome china trashy sound.

Comments about Sabian HHX Evolution Series O-Zone Cymbal:

I have to tell you the 20" is so loud that to play it without hearing protection would be a very UNwise decision. I hate playing with muffs but its a must with the 20". I own the HHX 18" and the AAX 16" and all three are excellent. I didnt really need the 20" but couldnt resist and Im glad I gave in. I wouldnt throw away my chinas because I couldnt understand the O-Zone being a replacement but this crash is perfect.

I've got a prototype of this model in a 10 incher and was bleeding every night just waiting for the bigger parents to come out. Well low and behold here we are. I cannot say enough as to how well these things splash or crash so well. They don't have that heavy metal feel to them so your wrking hard to get a decent sound out of them. They are just the right gauge. Beginners to pros should all have at least one in their set of Sabain gear. Heck not to be out done but anyone with any cymbals should definitely adopt at least one of these babies. Absolutely brilliant. A drummer cannot have a full kit until he or she owns at least one of these.

Comments about Sabian HHX Evolution Series O-Zone Cymbal:

The O-Zone is basically a very trashy crash cymbal. You can(...and I personally prefer)substitute this for a china. If you were looking for something other than this(like a ride or a regular crash)don't even think about trying to rate this cymbal (what are these people thinking?)My score is for the 16" O-zone ONLY. I don't like the 18" at all.

I just received my ozone cymbal and immediately started playing it. The sound it gives off is a vibrant bright crash sound with just the right amount of trash. I highly recommend it.
