OVERVIEW

A subtle but simmering blend of traditional tone in a highly responsive and versatile cymbal.

The Sabian HHX Manhattan Ride Cymbal delivers the great lost sound of the 50's, 60's and 70's. Smoky, ever-present 'tah' stick response simmers within a warm, semi-dry wash of trashy, traditional tone.

Comments about Sabian HHX Series Manhattan Ride Cymbal:

This Ride has a beautiful tone. With that being said, I feel it has a specific audience. It is NOT for any application that needs a cutting ride cymbal. If you're a jazz player or play small rooms where you don't need to cut through then this is your winner. If you need to hear defined stick articulation then go towards the Rock Ride. As I've said in other reviews, you can't go wrong with Sabian. It's a matter of finding the right cymbal that fits your ears.

Comments about Sabian HHX Series Manhattan Ride Cymbal:

This is the best ride I have ever played or heard. The stick is crisp, and when you ride it, the overtones kick in and fill up any mix of instruments. The crash sound is also astounding, making this not just a great jazz ride, but a ride that will sink into rock without any problems.

Comments about Sabian HHX Series Manhattan Ride Cymbal:

For over 40 years, after losing a 20" Zildjian ride I owned and treasured, I've been searching for a ride with the perfect tone I so missed, but have finally found again in the HHX Manhattan I recently purchased. Absolutely perfect...If you're a jazz drummer, look no further!

I use this cymbal in Jazz band at my school and also use it as a crash in my personal rock band. It is overall a great cymbal with a full sound for crashing and a warm jazz ride sound. It is worth EVERY dollar!

The prettiest ride I've ever heard

        By Tauwolf

        from Ohio

Comments about Sabian HHX Series Manhattan Ride Cymbal:

This cymbal is *beautiful* sounding. It has the prettiest stick i've ever heard and the way the overtones wash through this cymbal on every hit amaze me every time I play. Don't hesitate for one second if you play jazz or big band, and if you play anything else get this as a 2nd ride.

        Awesome Jazz Ride

        By Mellowcat

        from Pacifica, CA

Comments about Sabian HHX Series Manhattan Ride Cymbal:

If you like the sound of a light jazz ride with a nice, subtle wash, then this is the cymbal for you. This is an ideal ride for bop, and small jazz ensembles. I compared this ride to many of the K's at Guitar Center, and found that this one was more satisfying. I am very pleased.

        Sabina all the way BABY!

        By Santafejboy

        from Florida

Comments about Sabian HHX Series Manhattan Ride Cymbal:

This ride is one of the most beautiful ride cymbals I have ever owned - and I have owned a lot! Sabian has done it again with the Manhattan ride. This cymbal is all class with a clear bell, woody stick and beautiful undertones. This cymbal is very thin with a gorgeous edge wobble and it opens up at the lightest touch but can handle crashing and heavy ride patterns.AMAZING!!! Buy it :)

        Jazz Drummer's Grail

        By Marshall Carter

        from Palmer, AK

Comments about Sabian HHX Series Manhattan Ride Cymbal:

This is the best ride I've ever played. It's very thin so it can be crashed easily, and has brilliant overtones that fill out after every hit. I use this cymbal in a small jazz combo, as well as with a big band. It works beautifully.
