The Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Effect Cymbal Pack includes 8" splash, 10" splash, and 19" Chinese cymbals.

Developed with Neil Peart of Rush, Sabian Paragon cymbals blend 2 styles of lathing for balanced cymbal tone. Pinpoint lathing creates a narrower groove for a fast, lively response on the top, while the traditional Sabian AA lathing creates a wider groove for a fuller, richer tone on the bottom side.

Paragon Effects Pack

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Effect Cymbal Pack:

After seeing many tours with Neil playing with Paragons, it's inspired me to get that sound he gets which after many years of recording, I can re-create. Every concert, I cant get over how clean his china is but also not too trashy. It seems as the talk during intermission about the china can be heard, echoing up the stadium and around. Another option is buying a wuhan china with is cheap. Neil has used a wuhan china few times, while back, although the wuhan is too trashy sounding. These splashes he uses are also very bright & responsive. Best cymbal line ever!

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Effect Cymbal Pack:

I Bought this pack about 5 months ago, and the first thing I noticed was the splashes were great. The 10" splash was very like the 10" HHX splash, but the sound was a little more glassy. I would say this splash is between Mike Portnoy's 11" splash, and a 10" HHX splash. The 8" splash is great too, just smaller. And the china, first of all it has a great quality and finish. The sound is oriental, not very dark, and not very powerful. But for riding, this china is great. For the syncopated patterns like china-ride or crash-china or china off beats, this china is AWESOME..I would suggest this set to any player who is looking for distinctive and rich sounds in their setup.
