OVERVIEW

Designed with the Rush drummer!

Very fast, sharp, and biting.

Developed with Neil Peart of Rush, the Paragon series blends 2 styles of lathing for a very balanced cymbal tone. With AAX pinpoint lathing on the top and classic Turkish-style AA lathing on the bottom combined with the hand-hammered bell. The pinpoint lathing creates a narrower groove for a fast, lively response on the top, while the traditional AA lathing creates a wider groove for a fuller, richer tone on the bottom side.

i've had this splash for about 3 years. I bought this one along with a 10" sabian aax splash. The aax splash is much glassier than this one, which has more of a china-like sound. It's very thin, which is why it has such a short decay. Over all, nice sharp, quick, almost mini china-like sound with a fast decay. Only con is that after about 2 and a half years it started cracking from the center hole outward in virtually every direction. Oddly, as soon as i noticed it, it stopped cracking, so it still works well.

I noticed that when I started playing this cymbal with my other ones including my 17 and 18 inch AAXplosion crashes, this splash just was'nt cutting through the other cymbals. I love the Paragon Series overall as I have played all of them and own the 19 inch china but this cymbal just didn't seem worthy of being considered in the Paragon Series.

Great Splashes

By tim.gilbride@hotmail.com

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Splash:

I've had the 10" for about two years now, and I play it ride style, like Chris Adler. For the people that say it's too thin and it breaks, improve your technique. I hit it very hard, it's very sturdy, and it's loud and piercing. This cymbal is everything that I could have asked for in a splash, and I can't wait to buy an 8" and another 10", just because I love them that much that I want multiples :) Seriously, get this splash. I use it for everything.

Best splash period.

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Splash:

I own the 8" and 10", and don't regret buying either one. They are kind of pricy, sure, but they're cheaper than half of the other Zildjian and Sabian splashes I've looked at. So don't think they're overpriced.Sound...the 8" is far higher-pitched than the 10", so they make a nice pair. The 8" has a nice glassy punch with quick decay. The 10" has a solid, warm wash with medium sustain. I mounted the 8" to the left of my hats and the 10" between by 12" and 13" toms.Quality...well, excellent, of course. It's Sabian after all. These are thin, though, so if you're a really hard-hitter, you might consider looking elsewhere. They're not cheap, of course, so if you just don't beat the crap out of them, they probably won't chip.So to summarize, you're not just paying for Peart's name, they're thin and punchy, and they just sound great.

Awesome cymbal.

By MAniacTHW

from Tampa, Fl

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Splash:

I bought this from a local shop with the extension arm for my crash stand for the same price, but the cymbal itself is amazing. To the guys who are breaking these or it's not loud enough, seriously, learn to play. Dynamics my friend. This cymbal is a little darker than I'm used to, but it's quickly become my favorite cymbal so far. Grab this cymbal when you get the chance.

"The best money can buy"

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Splash:

I have the 10" and the 8".I was lucky enough to get them at a greatly reduced price a couple of yrs. ago!I use the 8" as a splash and the 10" as a top mini-hat,with a"Wuhan" 10" bottom.I baught a "Pulse" Jr.drum-kit to use as a bop kit! These are such beautiful sounding splash's!I would only use these for light playing, like Jazz.I agree with the comment about breaking cymbals' and technique!
"Buddy Rich" only broke one cymbal in his lifetime and that was considered a manufacturing Fault!
B-20 bronze,hand cast,hand made!
Beautiful cymbals' with a magnificent tone!
I think these and all other cymbals',for that fact are overpriced, even though these ARE "QUALITY" cymbals'!

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Splash:

I was looking for a splash with lots of tone and response. I found it , and it is the best. Thank you sabian, for having the insight to use the greatest drummer in rock to help provide such a great product. I will slowly change all my cymbals to paragons.

Best Splash I've Played

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Splash:

As I mostly play metal, I was not expecting the to particularly like this splash. I went to my local music store to test some cymbals out and I started playing this one. It ad an amazingly strong bite and a short shimmering tone that I loved. Unfortunately I bought a Avedis series zyldjian previously to playing this and I have no use for two splashes. If I were shopping for a splash now, I would by the paragon in a heartbeat.

Everything you want in a splash

By MapexDrumstastegood

from Brooklyn Center, MN

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon Splash:

I am a huge fan of the Paragon series, and this splash is no exception. Like other Paragon cymbals, it has a darker tone in comparison to most other splashes, but not TOO much darker. You can work it in with most types of music. I'm actually surprised that they've actually started giving it away free in a few different packages. This is a great cymbal for anyone.
