Being only 16 and a budgeted drummer, it took me a while to get the money for the Vault series. I played every piece about two months back just to make sure I liked the sound, and I was completely satisfied. The best part is, these cymbals are good for any set; meaning, they sound great in the studio, and they make a GREAT live show. Plus, at this price, you're practically stealing them. Don't waste your time on A customs, dive right in to a pair of Sabian Vault series. They're the perfect set of cymbals for you if you're in a fast paced, metal genre band. Trust me.
I bought this Vault cymbal pack about three months ago and when I did I got them on sale for around five hundred bucks. I didn't want to pay anymore than because I didn't know enough information about them. No one submitted a comment review about these cymbals and thats one of the main things I look at when when making a big money decision like this(who wouldn't). The first thing I noticed when I took them out of the box was how beautiful they looked. As good as, if not better than, the A Custom cymbals from the Ziljian line or AAX cymbals from the Sabian line. Sound is amazing. Perfect pitch, tone, attack, and sustain. In my opinion these cymbals are great for beginners and experts. I purchased these cymbals at a great price. Only one thing that makes me give it a 4.5 over a 5.0 in it's "Features" is the fact that they're so loud it's better to practice with them outside or in an open area instead of a room because they are really loud(In other words, when they say "these cymbals cut through the music" they're not joking.
This pack is great! I was reluctant to buy at first but now i have no regrets. All the cymbals sound great. I recommend this pack to anyone at any level of drumming.
I played a full compliment of theses cymbals for about an hour yesterday and they sound very good. For you zildjan guys they sound like a mix between a customs and dark K's. They've got a lot of high end but at the same time a nice balanced mid like the K's. They are a bit on the heavy side and the 20 inch crash is more like a crash/ride than a crash. The hats are really ice and crisp but not too dry. I dont like too dry a chick but theses are perfect. The ride is pretty much that, a ride. the bell sounds good but it is nothing spectacular. I much prefer a good A sweet ride or a ping ride but for the package deal, it is pretty good. BTW all you hardcore people, it crashes really well and is really stable while doing suspended crash type stuff on it. Anyway, hope this helps
