bought these a month ago, great set for the price. not too impressed with the high hats but way better than my pearl factory set. needed an upgrade from beginner to intermediate rock/metal and these are working great. i would recommend these to anyone wanting a great sound but without the cash for the HHX and AAX cymbals. this pack is the way to go.
First off, these cymbals belong to my friend, but I have used them many times. I love the ride. Its REALLY washy, so it makes for a good crash, but it also has a great bell, which really cuts. The 16" crash is really great, full bodied, and has a low, powerful crash that makes it suitable for a main crash. The hi-hats are ok, kinda clunky, but good enough. they sound decent closed, but not so good open. The splash is great, and I actually own one.
I bought this set last year when my band started playing live. At first, I wasn't a fan. I think this was due to coming from a true entry level cymbal set. After playing with them for a few days, I really appreciated the quality sound. After several months, I'm still very happy with the purchase. Only down-side I found is that the case is kind of junky. I've switched back to an old soft case bag.
I have the 10" splash and have played the 16" crash side by side with the AA medium thin 16". They are pretty similar and the both sound great. About the 10"...it has a really nice sound and sounds exactly how it should sound.
I always used Sabian and upgraded to XS20. The sound of the cymbals are great. The pitch is mid to low which is good for hard rock and metal. They are not just starter cymbals but for any active drummer.
This is one of the best cymbal deals I've ever run across. First off, it's a complete set with 2 crashes, a splash and a full size china in addition to the hats and ride. The open sound of the hats and the china aren't quite what I'd ideally prefer, but they still sound very solid with a warm, slightly dark tone that sounds nothing like the tinny, annoyingly high pitch of typical budget cymbals. The crashes are distinctly different in sound but match each other perfectly, and the splash cuts through like a knife. To top it all off, the cymbals are sonically matched and come in a very nice hardshell carrying case that screws shut and does a wonderful job of protecting your investment. These might not be top line cymbals, but with this kind of package it's a small sacrifice.
Well first off i wanna say this is the bestt cymbals you can get on a tight budget. I am an activwe musician and these cymbals have a bright yet dark sound. The ride sounds incredible as well as the china and other components my least favorite cymbal are the hats because they dont have a brighter tone but overall these cymbals sound great.
If you are looking for cymbals that you can hit hard and not worry about them cracking, then you've found your match. the only cymbals that aren't that great are the high hats and possibly the crash, but the rest sound great... i've owned mine for two years and they've got no cracks whatsoever.
I havent been drumming for a while and my set was collectiing dust. Close to my b-day i decided to take drums back up, i decided i needed some new cymbals to re spark my hobby. So i searched for something with a good budget and excpetional sound. I finally found these. i was orignally looking for a 3 or 4 pack complete set but these caught my eye. I looked at the price and it was a little high but this was due to the fact that you recieve 2 more cymbals and better quality. So far its been 2 years and there is nothing i regret. I forgot about all the money and love them like my brother. Amazing sound and amazing price!
I got these cymbals for christmas, and they sound great! The only one i don't have is the Crash/Ride, but the china, splash, and ride all sound as good as any of their kind i've heard! The crash is pretty good, but not as good as some of the other cymbals out there, and the hats are my least favorite part of the set. They aren't as crisp or bright as I would like, but overall, these cymbals are the best value on the market I've seen!
