i bought the XS pack because it was a great value but i was very disappointed with the hats. the rest of the cymbals are real bright while the hat's are quite dark and don't give very good definition open or closed. the response off them is very dull and.... yeah, just disappointing .

First of all these hats don't sound like plastic like any other hats would for this price! They can be pretty crisp but also can give you that crunchy open high hat sound. You can do a lot with these and you don't have to pay much!

I got the 14in version, it was one of the greatest. Ive been able to use it for every genera i play. It give a nice "chick" which i love, exspecially with the jazz or funk. Its also great if you need a nice closed hat for metal, of any genera. I would recamend this for any player, no matter what skill level! Sabian also has a 2 year warrenty on everything, so thats worth it.

I owned a pair of XS20 hats for 3 years as I got back into drumming. Before that I used 13" Zildjian A Quick Beats, and aisde from the quicker "chick" of the airhole-endowed Quick Beats, the XS20's provided all the color and texture of high-end metal. I finally replaced the XS20's with AA El Sabors, then switched from those to AAX Stage Hats. Now I'm moving back to XS20's because they simply have a perfect tone for everything from jazz to heavy rock, like late 1970's Zildjian New Beats. A beginning drummer can buy these and use them forever. A seasoned drummer won't find a better deal for new cymbals.

I just got these hats yesterday and they're amazing!There so crisp and have an amazing "chink" to them when you close them! I think I might actually like these more than Sabian's AAX X-elerator hats! Buy these, you will NOT be disjointedness!

These hats are really good. Nice chick and open sound. Really more brillant than dark, but versatile. Besides to these are called "intermediate" hats, basically try it, play it, test it and youll see the sound is nice, average for all type of music. I own a 14 pair for almost 2 years and no problems with it. I played them live many times and had a good response. Nice hi hats.

I own several of the xs20 series cymbals and I have to say they are well made. These hats are about mid range(on a scale of begginer to pro). They have a really crisp sound and a perfect "chick" when you play them. I really liked them and was going to buy them when I decided on some paragon hats instead, because I thought they were more crisp. For the price these are an excelent deal. Great for any amature/intermediate player. Like I said, for the price, these are great. If your on a budget and you can't drop $$$ for pro hats, deffinately get these.

These cymbals mesh with anything...i borrowed them for a show and instantly fell in love so I went and bought my own set of them. These hats fit every type of music, sound great open as well as closed. Don't spend $300+ on other hi-hats like I almost did. Buy these because they are pro material for a beginner price.

ok..i have had these hi hats for about 3 years and cracked them about a year ago..i can't complain, they held up for a long time, but after playing zildgian k dark hit hats...these just didn't cut it. but they are all around good sounding hi hats. i would recommend them most players

This is a great hi-hat for every style of music. I can use if for jazz all the way to hard rock funk and blues it has a nice crisp sound and nice chick sound. Best Sabian hats out there.
