OK, guys, let's get it straight. If you want something that attacks then dies fast, get the XS20 rock crash and you'll love it. I don't want that. I want great attack and sustain. THIS IS THE CYMBAL, unless you wanna pay double the price for only slightly better sound. Every other cymbal of mine is now a Paiste and I love 'em, I've used Zildjian and they're good but pricey for the sound. The XS20's are indestructible, cheap, good looking, consistent, and multifunctional. The only crash that sounds better in Sabians line PERIOD is the HHX Evolution, which is too fragile for aggressive drumming. The XS20 is great, everyone should try one.

I bought this cymbal about 2 months ago hoping to get a versatile, all around good cymbal. I thought that because I read the reviews on musicians friend. Well I was absolutely wrong about this cymbal. It cracked in half 5 days after I got it, and I'm not a hard hitter at all.It sounded beautiful when I had it, but quality was not up to par, good for jazz, bad for rock or country or anything that requires hard hitting. If you do, in fact hit hard, I'd recommend mediums or rock. In the same price range, I'd recommend the ZXT line from zildjian over xs20s. If you have more money to spend on a cymbal, go with Paiste's RUDE line or Zildjian Z Custom.

When you first get this cymbal, you know you've got something special. I own both 16 and 18 inch crashes and for the price, they can't be beat. Both crashes sound great. They have a great smooth and crisp sound that works with any style of music. very good cymbals!!!!
The Sabian XS20 16" medium thin crash is a terrific sounding crash cymbal and a great bargain for the money. It has a very clean and somewhat darker sound with a pleasant sustain. It has no undesirable overtones. If you pair this with an 18" crash like a Paiste PST 5, it makes a great combination. Again, for the price of this cymbal you will be very happy.
The sabian XS20's are acually one of my favorite cymbols becuase I have tight budget and if you do too they are perfect. They can take a beating for quite a long time but right now I own the 16 inch and its lasted for a few months now the longest of any cymbol ive ever had and it has a crisp attack and a quick decay. Perfect for faster playing. its bright without being to "annoying". I am to be purchasing the 18 inch pretty soon because I heard that cymbol and its a perfect match for the 16 inch it has the same attack but a longer decay but a great tone.
I got a 14 incher in a package about 6 months ago. I play Death Metal and during shows adrenaline usually gets the best of me so I hit relatively hard. This cymbal has held up without a dent or a crack night after night. I use it as my main crash a lot of the time and it has held up wonderfully. It is very wallet-friendly and has a good sound, very bright and it project fairly well for a small crash. I highly recommend it if you are short on cash and want good quality for a good price.
Overall, i loved the 16" Medium-Thin Crash I had for about a year and a half, but being a hard-hitting metal drummer that puts ALOT of energy into his music, doesn't help the Medium-Thin part.I wouldn't recommend this cymbal to hard-hitters necessarily, but the sound is amazingly washy and impressive compared to others...I recommend a thicker cymbal, but not heavy for drummers like myself. Good cymbal for like rock or blues though!
Great to play in a loud environment. Sounds more like a ride cymbal to me, but still good for the price. Very loud and rings a while.
i was looking for some cymbols that would for fill my needs in quality and sound. and these cought my eye a while ago. i finaly got a chance to ty them, and there more than i hoped they would be. they may not be an A custum. but to me they sound better than the Z custums. i am a zildjin fan my self. but these XS cymbols are awsome . and they are at any drummers low budget. my advice, coming from along time drummer, is if u have a low money income but want quality. then pick these up to day!!!!
This cymbal is great! When i got it, it was used but it still soundedn terrific. It seems very durable and has a great sound, especially for rock, classic rock, etc.
I have a sabian XS20 16" medium thin crash. It's loud. That's the only positive feature of it. I was comparing it to a zildjian A custom a few minutes ago, and the zildjian was much brighter with more tones/coloring. The sabian has a lot of sound, but the sound isn't especially pleasing.
Alright, so the XS20s aren't exactly hand-hammered, but they still have the great sound you'd expect from Sabian, and at an incredibly low price! I got the Pro set with my most recent drumset, broke the 16" (only because I play pretty hard) and added an 18" and now I have the best sounding cymbals I've ever owned. I highly recommend these to intermediate drummers!
