I mistakenly ordered this instead of the Medium-thin crash I was intending on getting. I sent it back because it was the wrong cymbal obviously but first I ended up using it for a show anyway. I don't care for the sound. It fades fast sounds to trashy, which some rock drummers look for but I can't stand. The Medium-thin sounded much more musical with more resonance, I've had one for a year and it's a fantastic cymbal. Any XS20 is sturdy and a great value, but I recommend the Medium-thin variety. I also recommend you check out De Los Muertos from Manhattan, KS for great music.

I bought this cymbal in the XS20 rock cymbal pack. This cymbal sounded real nice, and it was quite loud, which is crucial when playing in a loud environment (i.e. hardcore band). But within approximately 4 months, the bell developed a crack around it. Within two more weeks of heavy playing, the crack had spread around the bell and the rest of cymbal simply fell off the bell. I was very dissapointed. I thought it would last longer. I would recommend saving your money and purchasing the higher quality Sabian AA-Metal X.

This was my favorite crash (the 14") for a while, and I favored it in all of my breakdowns. Beforehand I had a 16" B8 that was just so ringy. This XS crash was terrific for the whole year time span that I had, till it recently broke at the bell. If you want a great cymbal to get you by for a while at a great price, then this is your cymbal. Just keep in mind that it won't last you forever. But it won't let you down either.
I first bought the Sabian B8 crash and was really not happy with my buy at all, so I upgraded and spent $20 more and came out with a much better cymbal. I highly suggest that you buy this cymbal if you?re looking for a great cymbal at a great price.
I got The 18" XS about a week ago. It's sounding pretty good but the thing is it just has a weird tone to it that sounds kind of like a gong. It's not real deep or anything but its a mix between a Crash and a Gong lol. Its good for in the middle of a beat though cuz it's hard to notice the gong part of it but at the end of a song or beat or something it just sounds weird. Its got a nice bell on it however a much better sounding bell than my ride actually. Over all it's a good cymbal I Think if you got a 16" it would sound a lot better than the 18"
The sound quality is incredible for the type of music that I play. I have a 16 and an 18 on my set and the combination is amazing. It's a great cymbal for a great price. I would recommend the entire XS20 series!
This cymbal was made too heavey and you have to kill the thing to get a good crash sound out of it, the bell cracked after about 8 months, my thin A custom has lasted over twice as long
i bought this about 2 years ago. hardly a scratch on it it still! i play it every day. i love this cymbal because its so heavy and is an awesome go to crash in the middle of a song. i will keep buying this cymbal for years to go on.
I got an 18 crash, because I got the 16 crash with the rock pack I got. I loved the sound of the 16 crash, so I thought of getting and 18 inch crash! And was it ever a great idea. I love the whole xs20 line, because they're great cymbals for the drummer who is on a budget! It sounds killer, and really is loud. I am pleased, and I look to buy a 18 inch chinese next!
For my birthday, I bought this crash. It had good quality and sound for a reasonable price. I consider this the best crash out of my other crashes on my set. I recommend this crash to anyone who wants a heavy rock sound.
I'm in a punk band, and play fast and hard, and these cymbals kept up to me. I just got a crack in the grooves of my 16 crash, but that is because I'never cleaned them so some green rust moved in, clean them and they'll last a long time. But they sound great, even the cracked one still sounds good, just with added sizzle sound. I just played a show with them, and the cracked one worked fine.
I have had zildjian crashes for a while and i wanted to try something new so i got a sabian 16 xs20....and the sound is amazing...it is just a crisp rock sound...and who can forget how good it looks...it is truely one of the best rock sounds i've ever heard....GET IT...oh yea...and u cant just barely hit this cymbal...you have to put some muscle into it to u can get a really good sound for it
