This kick pad does respond to fast double and triple beats. The issue that i have come across is the Brain (module) some do not like to respond to the fast double kicks all you have to do is this! for a SD5K and its possible for the sd7k kits. I have done the following tweak to a sd5k module to get it to work.
Take the Crash input and Kick input and swap them. Now program the CRASH INPUT on your module to your appropriate like of sound for a kick drum and then take the Kick INPUT and do the same to program the CRASH. so when your programming features light up the kick button, it will be your crash and when you press the crash button it will be your kick..Now the Module for the SD5K WILL ALLOW FAST DOUBLE KICKS...WA LA DONE DEAL. Get yourself this SD9K kick pad and the sound percussion double kick pedal and HAVE fun !!! it works great....do not use the other method on you tube to program the hi hat pedal to sound like a kick drum. It will DEPROGRAM your foot MOVEMENTS. You will have to reprogram your brain on how to lift and push your foot..NOT GOOD. Try it my way YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.....
the downside to doing this is You will have a very difficult time playing with the tons of pre loaded songs to play along with on your module. Other than that if you are on a tight budget and the wife won't let you spend ALOT OF MONEY on a double kick kit from the start, then purchase the SD9K KCK PAD AND SOUND PERCUSSION DOUBLE PEDAL.it will be just fine...

The pad can't pick up fast double bass beats. It's fine for single pedal use, but it takes a lot of force to trigger it compared to other pads I've used.
