I got these only because you can't spray paint your bands logo on a gig bag. lol. I've read the other reviews, heres my opinion. My floor toms fit fine if I line up the two leg mounts that are closer together with the flat side of the case, and of course with the legs removed. Also somebody talked about ordering one size larger for toms with rims mounts, I did and that worked perfect, thank you for that. The kick drum case for my 24" is huge, about 4" too deep. The snare for a 14x6.5 was about 2" too deep. A few pieces of leftover acoustic foam took care of that. I also mounted four casters to back of the kick drum case, which allows me to put the 18" and 16" cases on top, buckle the 16" to the 24" sandwiching the 18" in between, and the whole thing rolls into the club. I also mounted two casters to the bottom of the SKB trap x1, it has inline wheels on one side with casters on the other side it becomes a flat cart. I then use the straps to secure the cymbal vault, snare case, and mounted tom to the top of the x1. Out of the van and into the club in two trips. I hope the casters don't void the warranty, tho I did use a rubber washer in between a metal washer to cut down on vibration damage. Great cases.

Comments about SKB Roto-X Molded Drum Case:
Cant go wrong using the roto x cases. I have all my drums in them. SKB has lifetime warranty on all their cases so that alone pays for itself. The quality is great as well. glad I have them. Would never go back to soft cases.
Comments about SKB Roto-X Molded Drum Case:
I have a 5-piece set that I've been using these with for the toms (so 3 cases). Sizes 13", 16", 18". These cases work great for the small rack tom, but my 16 and 18 floors toms have trouble fitting in these cases because of the floor tom leg mounts. I always have to tighten the wing-nut then squeeze them in. They don't fit nicely which sucks. You can tell it doesn't work because the case always has to bends when they are in, which results in pressure being put on my drums which is terrible. Also, i've noticed it's harder to get them in the cases after a gig, I think because as you hit your drums they expand, so the drums get larger and fit even worse. I wish I knew this before. They also aren't very light, but they do a good job of protecting your drums. The sizes should be bigger though.
Comments about SKB Roto-X Molded Drum Case:
I am a professional drummer with more than 16 years of experience. SKB cases are the best and protect my drums like none other....well worth the price! You also get a LIFETIME guarantee...can't beat that. Remember that these drums have 2 extra inches to account for mounts. If you are wanting a snare case, and your snare is 7x14, get the 5x14 case because there is two extra inches (therefore its actually a 7x14 case)...make sense? GET THEM FOR ALL YOUR DRUMS!

Comments about SKB Roto-X Molded Drum Case:
These cases work great for what they are. The only faults I can find are normal of this caliber of case: They will bend and morph if left in a hot trailer, as will any plastic. The Luggage style straps will break if you step on them in the dark backstage. The liners will also tear from the interior if you're not careful loading the drums into the case. And the casters for the kick case suck. I made a 3/8" plywood plate to separate the casters from the plastic and used 1/4" longer bolts to mount them. This helps keep the "Camber" of the wheels in check. You can roll without the plate of course, it's just what worked for me. Although I highly recommend the wheels regardless. It's so nice to roll your kick to the stage. Don't let your roadies, bandmates, helpers, ect.. grab the case by the straps. They have handles for a reason.I find these Cases to be one step down from a flight case, and 50lbs lighter at that. I love em.
Comments about SKB Roto-X Molded Drum Case:
I've played with a ton of people who will swear up and down on these cases. They are made extremely well, I haven't seen anyone break one yet, and I knew of a guy who would purposefully slide his kick down flights of stairs after gigging with total trust that these cases would hold up and not mess up his kit... (I'm not suggesting that however ha)If you have a Custom kit, however, and need a custom size, you can actually call SKB and they will make a case to your specifications... So don't fret if this site doesn't have your size in drums...Hope this helps!
Comments about SKB Roto-X Molded Drum Case:
I bought a kit about a month ago and got the cases with them and they are the best i had a gig in an upstairs apartment and i accidently droped my bass drum while i was comming down the stairs and when i opened it up there wasn't even a scratch on them. its a little hard to order them if you have gauger mounts but they usually fit.
Comments about SKB Roto-X Molded Drum Case:
My dad bought a new mapex kit last year, soon after he bought these cases. I had my doubts about how well they could take the abuse, how well they stacked, etc. Well, let's just say these things are like tanks! They can take anything you throw at them! I just bought a mapex kit myself this year, and I'm looking at buying those cases a.s.a.p.! Don't let the prices scare you off. They are by far the best cases I've ever seen. The only down side I see in them. Is that they have a limited number of sizes for drums. So what, buy a case one inch bigger it wont hurt!
Comments about SKB Roto-X Molded Drum Case:
I love these cases. I own the 22x18" bass drum case, the 12" tom case and the 16" tom case. I also own the SKB TP-X2 hardware case that fits my snare, cymbals and hardware. My only complaint, is that skb does not offer a 13x5" snare case which I would use when I don't need to lug my set around, because otherwise I put my snare in the hardware case. That is the only reason why I gave these cases a 7 for features. I hope SKB comes up with some more sizes someday.
