This mute is alright, but I recommened getting a better mute for your snare and bass drum as it doesn't do a very good job muting them. You should get this mute if you want a cheap mute for the toms but probably not for the snare or bass drum.
The Mute doesn't do a really good job of muting the snare or bass drum, it only quiets the sound a little tiny bit, although, on the toms its a pretty good mute and mutes it almost completely.
It isn't that good at muting the snare or bass, but its pretty good with the toms and its a nice plush mute.
It was pretty good for it's price, although, I would recommend spending some extra dollars on an even better mute because this one is not the best.

For the price, these are very useful for quiet practice. The pad has a nice rebound, although it is not the same as hitting the actual drum head (more of a mesh head type feel than mylar). Although hitting the drum mute still lets the drum resonant on one side and has a loud practice pad sound on the other side, it is definitely a good pad for reducing the full volume of your drums.
I've found that the side without the logo has more of a practice pad type feel and will kill all resonance from the drum. The side with logo, however, still produces some resonating tones.
It is a dense rubber pad, shouldn't break anytime soon. You will get stick marks all over it though.
This definitely reduces the volume of your drums, for very little cost (per drum).

So all of the mutes that have come from this company are pretty good but I have no idea how the bass drum mute is supposed to stay on the head. It seems that whoever invented this mute didn't take into account......gravity. I've tried tape, but the mute doen't even give a good surface that you can put tape on. If you don't use tape, then the mute folds over onto your foot and everything else.
It is a great overall buy but seriously I have no idea how the bass drum mute is supposed to stay on.

The neighbors are happy, they say like listening to me play but it has to get old sometime, they're just to kind. Since I'm prone to playing most days of the week I can't stand the constant volume produced from drums unleashed. This product makes it easy to be considerate.
I'm not using a bass pad, though it is pillowed, as to hear it while I practice the newly added double bass pedal and implement it into the routine.
While not perfect the sound percussion drum mutes peform satisfactory.
Though they are a thin pad the feel is mushy and fall short of replicating a drum head.
I've only had them a short time and seem to be holding up quite well.
These are far better than towels, tape, bulky plastic pads and the like, but do not meet the advertised claims. While the sound is muffled greatly and the pads lay flat sustained play on one drum will bounce it loose from the rim and begin to work off even an almost level drum.

I have a set of Alesis DM10 Studio electronic drums and they make quite a bit of noise when struck. I ordered these pads to reduce the impact noise, but they also added a bit of cushion and bounce to the drums pads that made them better to play. The plastic feel of the pad went away and now the drums have a more acoustic feel, so these mute pads have a better affect than expected.
