I've been using these for 5 years, and rarely broke one. I play in a "Beatles Tribute Band" and the 7a's are the perfect size and weight for all the tunes we do. If you are playing heavy metal, get some tree trunks, and bang away. If you play with some finesse you can use these effectively in songs from "If I fell", to "Helter Skelter".

Don't buy these unless you can pick them out yourself. These sticks need to be rolled to check for straightness and you need to look at the grain of the wood. Many times I've received warped sticks and dark grained mixed wood on these. Also they are not weight matched so you can get pairs that feel really strange to play with. Bottom Line: You get what you pay for. Buy Promark

Comments about Sound Percussion Hickory Drumsticks - Pair:
From my understanding, these sticks are made by Vader. I just started playing drums seriously, but I am a bass player of 20 years, and my current drummer has been using nylon-tip 5B's by SP and Vader. I use the 5B wood-tipped for my Simmons electronic kit and love em. Perfect weight and balance. Much better than the Zildjan sticks I've tried before.
When we compared SP to the Vader equivalent, we noticed the SP sticks have a slightly narrow taper to the tip. Balance-wise, they've all been great (we buy them by the 8 pair packs). Think of them as more of a budget Vader stick, not as a generic stick. You can get 8 pairs of SP for less than 6 pairs of Vader.

Comments about Sound Percussion Hickory Drumsticks - Pair:
I bought these Sound Percussion drum sticks for my six year old just starting drum lessons. They are inexpensive and seem to be everything a drum stick should be. The teacher recommended 7A which they had and also a wide selection of other sizes. They seem to be of good quality with no visible signs of manufacturer defect of any kind. I personally am no drummer but do recommend these stick for the application which I have described above. I am sure he will get many many months of use from them if not longer.
Comments about Sound Percussion Hickory Drumsticks - Pair:
last a long time, feel good, and are the cheapest hickory sticks you can get.
light and sound good
weighted perfect, sound great, last a long time, even with a heavy hitter like me
these are better than vic firth american classics, which is what i used before i found these, and are half the price.
Comments about Sound Percussion Hickory Drumsticks - Pair:
I buy a few pairs at a time just to have extra.
Your basic nylon tip
I play hard so either way I break sticks almost daily. They feel a little lighter compared to Vic or Pro but that isn't always bad.
Can't beat the price, I've used cheaper sticks that break almost instantly, these hold up for awhile for me but for a lighter hitting player they would last a long time.
Comments about Sound Percussion Hickory Drumsticks - Pair:
well, i am a vic firth fanatic all the way to the fulest extent, i got these at a deal at my music store when u buy a six pack of vic firth american classic. i broke all my vics within 3 months because i play like an animal, but then i faced an empty wallet:( so i had to resort to my sp sticks for a bit until i can get the 50$ to buy the almighty vic firths. they are excellent for the value and ive been playing on a set for 5 days and they havent broke. (VERY SUPRISING) anyway if u hav an empty wallet like i then get sp for now, but when u save up go with vic firth!!!!!! VIC FIRTH RULES!!!!!!!!!!!
